Weird Science was released today in 1985. I adore this film. Kelly LeBrock was beautiful, Bill Paxton was absolutely brilliant and the whole thing is endlessly quotable, this scene is alone is filled with great lines. Not bad considering John Hughes wrote the script in just 2 days

One of my favourite films.
Love it!

That movie is hysterical.
“What’s this boy talking about, on the telephone, man?”
Great Movie! Fun fact about Kelly LeBrock, when Hall and Oats made ManEater they drew inspiration from a party where Kelly was at. They said something along the lines of she stole the spotlight the second she walked in. And I learned that bit of pop culture from Pop-Up Video on VH1.
She’s into malakas, Dino…
Yer stewed, buttwad!
Downey Junior in this film too, before the drug spiral
I referred to Bill Paxton as Chet throughout his career.
“Chet’s in the new Alien movie”
“Chet made his directorial debut with Frailty”
“Chet was a complete freak in The Dark Backward”
Man, I miss that guy. He made every movie he was in better.
What are you guys doing in there……”Gary’s taking a shit”
HI DUDES! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
You can’t even take a showah …with a beautiful woman…without leaving your jeans on…
You two donkey dicks couldn’t get laid in a morgue.
He ain’t even got a license, Lisa!
Props to Danny Elfman and Oingo Boingo for the theme song too.
It was 30+ years and about two dozen viewings over that timespan before I had an epiphany and realized that the entire movie is the live action version of the Dr. Seuss classic *The Cat in the Hat.*
Vernon Wells is in it too (The mohawk guy from the Road Warrior)
GIMMIE DA KEYS!!!!!
GIMMIE DA KEYS!!!!!
Anthony Michael Hall nailed this movie.
“I’m sorry I have been such a ….. shit to you all these years.” Eats a fly. “Oh my god!”
“How about a nice, greeezy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?”
Chet was the best
It also is a rare movie to pass the Betchdel test.
This was my favorite Friday night movie growing up. Juice box, robe and chocolate covered peanuts…life was good
Golden. This and Real Genius.
Well, my nuts is halfway up my asshole but other than that I’m perfect!
I saw this movie twice before it hit theaters. I was part of the test audience. First viewing had some scenes in black and white still and no background sounds or music. Second viewing was finished and happened about two months later. Hilarious both times.
This is in my top 10 movies of all time. I never get sick of it, and still laugh. Sixteen Candles and Better Off Dead are also on Par with Weird Science. (Weird Science the song is my ringtone.)
I met Bill Paxton when I was working as a PA on the Late Late Show. What a nice guy. He literally talked to me for almost an hour. I had my production supervisor yelling for me on the radio and he told them I was talking to him.
I geeked out over almost every movie he was in. Such a great guy and was so down to earth and grateful. He passed away shortly after that and it was such a gut punch. I wrote a letter to his family via his publicist and got a letter back from Louise Paxton and she said how much talking to me as a big fan made his day.
Don’t hate her because she’s beautiful, but I don’t think Kelly LeBrock gets enough praise for her comedic performance. That kind of timing is something that can’t be taught. The “chips, dips, chains, whips” monologue wouldn’t have been nearly as funny coming from anyone else.
