dude missed a layup. should have asked if he could calculate 1/4 of a dollar in cents, then 1/10 of a dollar in cents, then 1/20 of a dollar in cents, then 3/16 again.
To be fair, the expert witness answered exactly how he should and he stood his ground. A court deposition is not a game of 4D chess or a dick measurement contest.
His report was probably rock solid the way his opponent resorted to try attacking his character with fallacies. Which leads me to believe that opponent had nothing and probably lost their case in court.
I’m not capable of calculating the decimal value of 3/16 of an inch. I’d have to google it. Non-metricated units of measure drive me crazy.
2:57 “Oh I know how I did it, sir, I could show you…”
“Well then show me how you did it”
“No, I can’t show you”
lmfao
On one hand, it’s a an easy calculation and the “expert” comes off poorly for not doing it,
On the other hand, I would not want to be doing live maths at a deposition for anything more complicated. I would also to defer to a computer and standard formulas
An accident reconstructionist “applies physic’s laws” to figure out what happened during an accident.
But “I can’t do it without my computer or my formula sheets.”
