So someone doesn’t open it expecting something else.
One of the local hiking areas near me marks the various trails with spraypaint spots you can follow. I was walking the blue trail, and almost got seriously lost when the spot I tracked happened to be one of these doggy doo bags. I was furious, but didn’t actually pick the bag up, either.
They did throw it away though…

He’s probably dropping 2 identical bags, one containing dog shit and the other containing contraband. He walks his dog, drops both bags, then walks off. You pick up the bag that doesn’t contain dog shit.

I fail to understand why. I see this every day when out walking.
There are free dog poop bags right next to a heavy lidded trash can that you’re supposed to drop the poop bag in after cleaning up. The heavy lid is to keep out the other creatures during the night. I see 4 or 5 new dog poop bags within 100 feet of the can every time I walk. I mean, why bother? Why bother to even fetch a bag, fill it with poop and then tie it… and drop it on the trail not back in the can? Why not just leave the dog shit where it is, if you are that lazy? How can you be “half lazy”? I do not get it.

Who knows… They market so many of those bags as biodegradable and there are so few trash barrels around since 9-11 changed the world’s safety protocols people have probably just had it with the nonsensical runaround and figure it’ll keep people from stepping on it and messing up the treads on their shoes and we’ll get a better idea of how many people in the area are disabled with colorblindness
