I have extremely high hopes for this after seeing Interview with the Vampire. This year was stacked and it might be a top 3 show for me.
Alexandra Daddario đź’—
I presume that old woman was her aunt, Carlotta. Good casting. She looked terrifying.
Looks like they’re being faithful to Rowan’s character and arc. She starts out unsure and a little ashamed of her difference but as she starts to embrace it she becomes unapologetic about using it.
Edit: Oh shit! Aunt Carlotta is played by Beth Grant. That’s a win in my book.
Hey, you know what? Good for her. She’s been knocking around for a while without a top spot like this. Lead role, decent production company, well known name like Ann Rice. A role other than love interest or eye candy.
It’s also an occult genre show so I’ll probably end up checking it out just because.
I was head over heels for the Vampire Chronicles books back in my teens but I could never get into the Mayfair Witches stuff. It just bored me. I read all of the Vampire Chronicles books including the New Tales side books but as soon the crossover books started happening I was done completely and didn’t read any more.
Having said that, I absolutely loved the reimagining of Interview with the Vampire and thought they did an incredible job. I may not have liked the Mayfair Witches books but I’m open to seeing how this show is based on the goodwill instilled by IWTV.
A story wherein a clan of women was bred by a ghost who kept seducing them asapp. Of course.
I was pleasantly surprised with how they adapted Interview with the Vampire, despite a couple of gripes, so I’m cautiously optimistic about this series as well…
I just hope they have as good of a group of writers heading this show as Interview.
It has been since the 90s since I read these books, but remember loving them. Can’t wait to see it.
