Although alot of PS2 or Dreamcast era games hit me also really hard in the nostalgia department.

For me, Star Wars battlefront. It was the first game I ever owned and I got it in the summer before middle school. The sad part is I can’t find a populated server anymore

Played the hell out of it on private servers and during classic. I can get lost for days just leveling up new characters in that world. Now I’m just hoping without hope that Microsoft does something to fix Actiblizzion so I can go back to it.

Baldur’s Gate. Many factors but the mix of medieval atmosphere, exploration, playful music, magic and sense of adventure made an impression on young me.
Has to be Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic for me I always remember renting the game and being off sick from school just chilling, enjoying and being amazed by the game.

Duke nukem 3d, such a great game. The sound effects alone are a nostalgia-gasm
Banjo-Kazooie. Every year, without fail, i go back and 100% this game.
I want to say Oblivion. Played the shit out of that back in 2007-2008….but that was also a time I was an unemployed, basement dweller with not a thought of how I’m going to get out of that rut (borderline depressed too). It was just wake up, make myself a coffee, wrap up in a snuggly blanket then Oblivion for the rest of the cold Winter day while everyone else in my family gets ready for work and leaves me home alone.
It’s a beautiful game, but just hearing that music brings my mind right back to that time. Like a nostalgic heartache.
Now I sometimes just pop on the OST when I am working in the office (a job I’ve loved for 10+ years now) and immediately it triggers me back to how I used to feel so hopeless and used Oblivion as an escape. Then I compare that previous state of mind to where I am now; working the in-house job I always wanted and in a much better place 🙂 Wish I could go back and tell my past self it’ll be alright.
Think I’ll reinstall it on Steam tonight. It’s been a few years!
