Dang, from a Registered Nurse to a string of demotions at KFC??? We don’t know what was happening in Faye’s life so I’m not sure it’s fair to her to have this picture floating around.
I’m aware that you’re not Faye and this is a repost, but I would point out for the benefit of anyone seeing this that it’s a really bad idea to post pictures of your work ID on the Internet. It can be used by criminals to impersonate an employee and gain access to your facility, enabling all sorts of attacks ranging from workplace shootings to corporate espionage.
(Note that I’m not talking specifically about healthcare settings like hospitals. I’m talking about all kinds of offices and workplaces where you have a badge and/or a uniform.)
If she’s like my sister, she then follows it by getting so fed up with awful people that she leaves nursing and goes back to something that pays about the same as KFC because it’s less stressful.
I mean isn’t this pretty normal? I went from busing tables at Cici’s Pizza, fishing slices out of kids drink cups, to unloading produce trucks at target, to processing paperwork and now I’ve run marketing for multiple businesses and have my own consulting agency.
Many people I know with amazing careers have worked at fast food restaurants (while they were in high school or college). Can someone explain what is so special?
This is the career path I always use as an example when people moan about how impossible it is to get ahead. RNs make great money, it’s a 2-year degree, you can get there in steps while increasing your pay at each level (CNA, LPN, RN, BSN, NP), you can work just about anywhere, the job is always in demand. Viva the American Dream.
This is literally essentially everyone’s career path that make it to the middle class. Might skip the management portion of fast food. For example mine goes:
Dishwasher
Kitchen
Server
Personal support worker
Registered practical nurse.
Currently going to school to become a registered nurse.
I really don’t know why this post always gets thousands of upvotes. Is it because this lady kept her name tags?
this classist mindset kills society. both jobs mean something, they went from a commendable job to another. don’t lesson their effort because you see more in being a nurse.
This gets reposted so often, and for what?! Is this not like a completely normal career progression?
I used to work at a Starbucks, now I’m a software engineer. My mom worked at McDonald’s, now she’s a teacher. My dad worked at a moving company, now he’s an electrical engineer. My wife worked at an ice cream store, now she’s a therapist.
This lady worked at a KFC, now she’s a nurse. What am I missing?
Is class mobility so poor in the US that people are impressed by going from a regular employee in a fast food restaurant to a nurse? I don’t want to be a d**k here, but this seems like a pretty typical story of someone who started at an entry level job early in their life and ended up with a middle class job.

I want an update on Faye. This pic is like 10-15 years old now. By now I expect she is super mega kame Chief nursing officer or something.
Dang, from a Registered Nurse to a string of demotions at KFC??? We don’t know what was happening in Faye’s life so I’m not sure it’s fair to her to have this picture floating around.
Obviously fake! On the first 2 badges, she’s an old white guy
This fucking thing again.

Last I heard, she’s in a nursing doctoral program: https://dailynurse.com/tag/faye-lewis/
I went from English training manager to Customer Services Agent to unemployed.
But I like kfc what wrong with it
Went from serving KFC, to looking after people who eat it.
Again!!!!!!FFS.
It’s basically the same job; working with animal parts.
The respost is strong in this one.
If she’s like my sister, she then follows it by getting so fed up with awful people that she leaves nursing and goes back to something that pays about the same as KFC because it’s less stressful.
Nurse had a job before they became a nurse. wow
I mean isn’t this pretty normal? I went from busing tables at Cici’s Pizza, fishing slices out of kids drink cups, to unloading produce trucks at target, to processing paperwork and now I’ve run marketing for multiple businesses and have my own consulting agency.
Most people start in some crap hole job.
Why are bots spamming top content so hard? Is something coming soon???
Many people I know with amazing careers have worked at fast food restaurants (while they were in high school or college). Can someone explain what is so special?
Ancient repost.

People post such beautiful pictures to this sub! OP, is it okay if I print and frame this?
Seriously though, this is not r/pics material by any means
This seems pretty normal to me. You think no one else in nursing school works fast food to pay the bills? It’s great that she made it, of course.
so tired of seeing this picture every week
What happened at milf creek

Are they ever going to stop with these fake posts?
Wow she did a regular job while being a student? Just amazing like only 100% of peope do this just wow
Please stop reposting this
This patient is finger licking good
This looks like some “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” propaganda
Why is this becoming a thing on reddit? I do not want this to become a thing.
Oh yeah … because of karma.
(protip: most people start working at shitty jobs and evolve to better jobs – its a part of life)
Isn’t this a very normal career path? Lots of people start in fast food.
You mean to tell me that people don’t just stay at one job their whole life?
This repost is dumb karma-whoring
Maybe someday she’ll ascend to be a karma-farmer like OP…
So like a totally normal career progression?
this classist mindset kills society. both jobs mean something, they went from a commendable job to another. don’t lesson their effort because you see more in being a nurse.

Karma slut
Notice how it’s always this repost. And one or two others. If this was common there would be many such stories. This is just to placate workers
This is fun here is mine
From busboy to construction worker to demolition to researcher to married and miserable

I dont get it. You are supposed to do this.
Isn’t this normal? Most people that work fast food move on to something better.
way to tell KFC employees they need to do better.
There is no shame in working at a Fast Food restaurant.
