I was serving in a restaurant that he would come to when he was in the area (Sonoma). Real cool cat. Worked the line for a 45 minute stint and served part of a section (Conan O’Brien did some serving when he came to the restaurant too…Conan was hands down our favorite celebrity guest). Anyways, the news dropped and there was not a dry eye in the place. In fact, there was a pall over the joint for the next month. RIP brother.
Bourdain writes about his time in a trendy SoHo restaurant in the early ‘80s:
>We were high all the time, sneaking off to the walk-in refrigerator at every opportunity to ‘conceptualize.’ Hardly a decision was made without drugs. Cannabis, methaqualone, cocaine, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms soaked in honey and used to sweeten tea, secobarbital, tuinal, amphetamine, codeiene and, increasingly, heroin, which we’d send a Spanish-speaking busboy over to Alphabet City to get.
He had ‘it’ ! cool was seeping from his pores everyday of his too short life. Now I want to relisten to his audiobooks because I want to hear his incandescent voice & manner of speaking.

He was one cool dude. From food to politics, this guy rocked.
Pity pity pity he died 😔 I loved to watch his shows ❤️
If Iñaki Godoy was cast as Sanji instead of Luffy in the One Piece Live Action
Gotta go to Alphabet City and get some booger sugar!
I miss this dude.
You spelled Mark Ruffalo wrong
He left us too soon :(, one of the best
He needed more than a couple sammiches by the looks of him.
I do miss him.
One of my heroes.

Any woman not overweight on reddit gets howled at for being to skinny (heroin chic!). Ladies is Anthony Bourdain normal weight in this shot ?
I loved his shows, I watch reruns all the time.

I love and miss this beautiful man
His suicide really undermined my respect for him. Its like having a dalai lama be cancelled

Hello heroin chic
Favorite ep was in SoCal desert with guest Josh Homme of Kyuss & Queens of the Stone Age. There definitely was a chemistry. Two rebels.
He had issues. He shows we’re great though.
Heard he cooked kids.
