Legendary game
Sony is pouring a ton of resources to bolster their multiplayer games. Im not saying another SOCOM game but perhaps a spiritual successor.
They made a SOCOM 4 but, honestly I wasn’t a fan of it. I do remember the first and second one fondly but, could just be rose tinted glasses, as old games struggle to hold up these days compared to back then.
If only Zipper was still around. It still has a pretty big emulator community the last I heard.
I *completely* forgot about this game, but loved it on the PSP. That “ein svein drein acht” song just popped back into my head.
First ever online game I played! Sooo good! Getting headshots has never been so satisfying
I loved Soccom 2, but it just wouldn’t hold up these days without being completely reimagined
Just add a couple servers for online and throw it on PlayStation premium. I’ll immediately upgrade my account…

Played and finished the PSP iteration, I think in that game you couldn’t move the crosshair up/down and it really disturbed me at first, ended up really liking the game.

I don’t really care if it’s Sony, or anyone else, but the dynamics introduced in this game were revolutionary and would love to see this style game make a reprise.

MAG, For the Playstation 3, was going to be the next SOCOM game. it was a third person multiplayer only 256 player shooter. They dropped the SOCOM part and made it first person instead.
MAG was an amazing FPS but an absolute stupid decision to make it a playstation exclusive.

Remake Black too. I loved it
A group of devs have recently taken upon themselves to basically remake this game into a new game. Its called Task Force and its on steam.
