What type of club? My kid’s teacher had concerns.

Get your minds out of the gutter, it clearly says spy club.
You know, one of those voyeuristic clubs where you watch people have sex, possibly without their knowledge or consent.
I saw spy but I’m just used to reading kids handwriting I guess
Teacher’s mind is in the gutter. Took me a minute to figure out it might read as “sex club” instead of “spy club.”
Two things to remember: The Lord loves a working man and don’t trust a sneaky cracker.
It says “9 SPX Club”, which means a crypto exchange.
It’s quite obvious when looking at the rest of the text what was meant. None of the other ‘e’s in the text look like the p in ‘spy’. It’s a shame that there’s no examples of ‘x’ in the text or other ‘p’s but we do see other examples of ‘y’ which are consistent with the y in ‘spy’.
Now I understand the teacher has limited time to mark work, but before pulling in parents to discuss things like this, and potentially cause an awkward conversation between child and parents, it’s probably best to look a bit further or have another teacher check it first.
As a teacher… always ask questions first. Never assume anything!
Saw spy club, had to think about it to find sex club.
extra points for an excellent book cover – I appreciate the Scholastic branding in the corner!
I saw sex , not gonna lie 🫣
Sneaky cracker sex club? I thought they closed that place down
you do have to worry about those sneaky crackers
I asked my kids 11f, 14f. They both read spy club. I didn’t though.
Sheee dem sneaky crackers at it again
I don’t think the teacher was actually concerned. That said, I could see the confusion. The kid is consistent about his lower-case y’s, g’s, etc. extending their tails below the writing line, but fails to do it for just one word: spy.
I love how the kid took the time on the cover to put in Scholastic branding.
Keep this somewhere and show them when they grow up. Let them tell you what it says
I saw spy, that teacher is suspicious
Spy club. Dirty teacher.
I saw spy, but I had shit writing as a child.
Still kinda shit actually lol.
I immediately saw “spy club”. I guess, when you’re not looking for sexual content, you tend not to find it.
It’s funny I read “Spy Club” first
Spy
SPY is what i see also
I get that this is funny, but a children’s teacher should be able to read it as spy club or even ask the child to read it back to them for clarity.
