“wake up and go to sleep!”
Reservoir Stooges.
I saw one on the weekend I’d not seen before. They played all the characters in the episode. The guys were to marry. The gals were played by them. They posed together with their future “spouse” so that looked funny. Then they met the gals’ dad, played by Mo who was made up to be an elderly gentleman. What a crazy episode.
Now they do look like wise Guys.
nyuk nyuk nyuk
Larry kinda looks like Tom hardy with less hair in this picture
When i was a kid and they’d come on after davey and goliath ro whatever horseshit was on sundays and I’d watch because, you know, TV, but they always made me so sad. I was worried that they were so dumb and mean that they didn’t have homes or anyone who loved them. This is one of the only pictures I’ve ever seen of them that doesn’t make me feel sorry for their pathetic lives!
Holy crap Moe looks like Pacino in the godfather
Alternate Universe Stooges where Larry, Moe and Curly are Fraser-like intellectuals.
Out collecting protection money.
Just finished the Seinfeld ep where Jerry tells the chick about the three stooges! Then I wikipedia’d them just for fun, now I see this! Glitch in the matrix! I will show you the stooges
“Why, I oughtta…”
What do you mean I’m funny? Funny how?
Oh, wiseguy, eh?
Damn, Goodfellas in 1940!
Moe Howard answered a “fan mail” letter from my dad in the early 60s. Dad was around 11 years old and wanted instructions on proper pie-throwing technique, and Moe obliged with a handwritten letter signed “your pal”.
Apparently this was not uncommon for him, a real gentleman.
In this photo Larry and curly don’t look the same as their show-selves, but Moe is always Moe.
The slapstick still holds up decades later. Lots of episodes can still make me laugh out loud.
Larry is kinda bringing the smolder
I have never seen a photo of Larry with his hair combed back. Neat.
**Moe**: What?
**Curly**: Just, ya know, you’re funny.
**Moe**: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it’s me, I’m a little f’d up maybe, but I’m funny how, I mean funny like I’m a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I’m here to ****in’ amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?
“Moe I can’t see! I can’t see!”
“What’s the matta?”
“I got my eyes closed!”
Stoogefellas
The Sopranovitzs
It’s pictures like these that make me believe the stories about Larry being a ladies’ man.
looking rather dapper
They were victims of circumstance
Niagara Falls!!
mafia vibes.
Curly looks like a guy you don’t wanna fuck with.
Middle Stooge is Michael Corleone.
The Sapranooges
Who are these stooges you speak of?
Louis Feinberg, Moses Horwitz, Jerome Horwitz.
They made a lot of money for Columbia Pictures, but Harry Cohn never let them know how popular they were:
“Although the legend that in the 23 years they spent at Columbia the Stooges never received a payrise is untrue, it is rooted in reality. Playing his customary dual role of ruthless businessman and enthusiastic sadist, Cohn kept the Stooges on a one-year contract throughout their career at the studio, forcing them to re-negotiate their employment every 12 months, browbeating them into signing for a pittance with warnings that the shorts department was in financial trouble. In fact, thanks largely to the Stooges, Columbia’s shorts department thrived throughout the late ’30s and ’40s. Keeping its biggest stars in the dark as to their true value was a deliberate ploy to ensure they worked cheap.”
I grew up watching The Three Stooges, they entertained generations of children. It’s a shame they got such a bad deal.
Cheatem, Cheatem and Howe, attorneys at law
The last thing you hear before they draw their guns and rub you out is “Soitenly!”
Law office of Doowey, Cheatem, and Howe
They clean up well.
Wow Larry cleans up well. Looking like Robert Hardy
These guys got pretty beat up from all the bits. Worth a Google.
Curly looking like he’s about to ask where this week’s payment is.
They look like Mafia Bosses.
