This is a good one. Deserves a remake or a remaster or something.

Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story and Xenogears. That was just such a great time for SquareSoft. Absolute gems that didn’t get the recognition they deserved

parasite eve 1 = not really my cup of tea but was still good

tbh i didnt play the last pe as a lot of people reviewed it badly. i forgot about pe for a long time then a few weeks back i watched a youtuber who covered the entire franchise inclusive of spoilers.
fuck man…. the last title was terrible. what they did to the characters really leaves a bad taste.
I would play the absolute shit out of this if they gave us an HD trilogy with 1, 2, and 3rd Birthday.
What I miss even more, is the old Blizzard. Back when they cared about making great games. It’s sad what they’ve turned into.

Parasite Eve was great up until that 100 floor (optional?) building.
That was pure torture. Difficult as hell and every single floor looked the same so it was incredibly boring.
I get that you probably didn’t have to do it, but in general I like to fully complete games, and that building killed it for me.
PE was a good goddamn game bro. That brings me back. I’ve been looking for syphon filter for ever. I used to just repeat both of them.
It’s odd how the internet absolutely loves this game, but I know absolutely nobody in real life who knows what this game is. I played it a ton as a kid and loved it, no surprise there.

Wanted to play this so bad but the disc at the rental store would always freeze after you beat the first mutant rat.

Still wished this, alongside many, would get ported again since this never came in europe.

PE Is my fucking favorite PS game. The music is fucking baller, I still listen to the opening track on occasion.
The trailer for this game was on one of the demo disks I had as a kid, and it fucked me up. Some opera lady singing as people catch fire and some orange blob start wreaking havoc; it was right around the time I had first heard of “spontaneous combustion” and it made me terrified of the possibility of it happening to me for years.
Thing is to find an equilibrium between your own roots and the future.
The current Square CEO, he’s really disconnected, talking about NFT and else..it’s tone deaf.
On the other side, I see games like DQXIS, octopath 2, FFXIV, FFVIIR and soon FFXVI, I do feel that there’s passion and potential, I don’t need PSX nostalgia….
But I sure don’t see how you can spend millions on mediocre games like that recent Valkyrie Elysium or NFT plans whilst there’s a really strong market for your more traditional good games
Cheaper? Than what? FF VII? My copy of PE2 set me back over $120, and it’s gone up since then.
I remembered playing this game is was sooo good … never add any point to Aya or upgrading my gun because I didn’t know (I was not understanding english when young) lol and after beating the game I got the rocket launcher and put all my point in it \w/
Parasite eve is one of the greatest games i’ve ever played to this date.
Getting it to run on my 3ds was one of my greatest achievements, Mobile Parasite Eve for the win.
Nice! I was just digging through my old storage containers the other day to see what I still had. I came across my old copy of Parasite Eve that still has the FF8 demo disc with it. Was a pleasant surprise, as I forgot I ever owned it.
I played the absolute shit out of PE2, Dino Crisis and RE2 back in the day.
Playing before school, after school, and on Friday night all the way through to Saturday morning.
Echng thoghts shared by others, this game NEEDS a full glorious next gen remake. I wouldn’t call it “underrated” since every it’s always been lauded, but it is often overlooked as an absolute horror classic. The best combination of weird, gory, and action-packed storytelling. Plus it’s combat system was innovative and rewarding.
Will the remake it already? Fans have been asking this for years.

When they merged it was like all the creativity died, and they just kept spitting out the same four games with different skins attached.

Did this come with the Demo disc? Because that demo disc is one I played THE HELL out of for the Xenogears demo.
Still crack up that the game gives you every attack in the game and two party members, then when Fei says the story is being ruined the other characters just say “Who cares it’s just a demo.”
