It looks like the new game mixes breath of the wild and skyward sword. I do hope they’re getting rid of the survival aspect of weapons and shields breaking.
I’m so torn on BoTW. It’s obviously a mostly good game minus some basic open world flaws every similar game has to a degree, but it also doesn’t much feel like Zelda to me. I’ve played most of the major installments and it just doesn’t feel Zelda enough in it’s world building. Idk. I havent like every Zelda game and the ones I have enjoyed aren’t going anywhere. Been replaying Majora’s Mask. Didn’t age as well as I remembered but I still love it dearly.
We need to go back.
Nothing beats the 1986 feeling though. Nothing like the first time. The sense of wonder and excitement was just as intense as in any era for a game of this kind.
To think I am exactly as old as Zelda… hmm this post got me thinking about the things I grew up with, especially gaming and how they changed and yet some things are so timeless. For example, I set up one of my spare switches in the living room and randomly play ocarina of time on it and get sucked in from time to time. Some things still hit it.
comparing the worst graphics back then to the worst graphics nowadays. what a revelation /s
Twilight Princess is the Best Zelda Game and I will Die Knowing that
Makes you wonder how The Legend Of Zelda will look like in 2033.
[TEE HEE HEE, DON’T FORGET 1993](https://s3.amazonaws.com/prod-media.gameinformer.com/styles/body_default/s3/2018/06/05/6a8f1665/ScreenShot2016-07-14-16h17m31s89.jpg)
old times
I can’t see a difference.
You’d be amazed at what else happened across 40 year time spans in the 1900s
But that’s Link
Yet i still only play ocarina of time.
No fairy
CEMU goes burrrrrr
How come these new games all have a white haze to them?
Aaaah yes, back in the day when the Great Fairy would just “Heal Your Wounds” instead of lasciviously luring you into her flower with promises of candy and upgrades.
I would like to see a new 2D overhead Zelda game similar to A Link to the Past. Still one of my favorite games ever. I prefer that game over BOTW personally.
I love that you included the ‘Missing Link’ in the evolutionary chain…
hehe
How did you get a picture from 2023?
Right
Botw sequel is either gonna be really good or really bad. No inbetween.
I agree, the graphics have gotten worse.
Is game graphic reaching plateau? From here on out improvements are only minuscule.
They’re the same picture
This is a dumb post lol.
if there is one thing you cant brag about in Zelda it is its graphics.
BOTW was fantastic , i hope they keep weapon/item breaking and the cooking system
That was a lot of fun
I gave up on finishing BOTW over a year ago. Every now and then I go back to it and have no idea where I am or what I’m doing. One of these days, I’m gonna start the game over and play it all the way through.
funny example. if Nintendo didn’t purposefully keep themselves a generation behind the rest of the industry since the Wii’s release, we could have gotten that 2023 game many years ago
But why do the 2023 and 2016 pictures look the same(ish) ?
Least nostalgia bait r/gaming post
