too bad they were dead the whole time and they never said why there were polar bears

I heard from a buddy of mine that they just made it all up anyway so I stopped watching after the 2nd episode

LOST was peak broadcasted TV, imo. It had folks from every generation talking about each episode each week over dinner, at church, at work. I remember as a 10 year old talking to my uncle about what we think was going to happen next. I remember asking to borrow my parents CDs of the prior season to watch on my DVD player on a flight somewhere.

    Ahhh good memories.

Apart from the outfits Lost is actually a pretty timeless show. The beautiful Hawaiian landscape will always be an iconic location. I wish there were more shows like Lost.

I want to rewatch the show one day and relive through this magical series. One of the biggest water cooler TV shows ever!

A lot of people here remembering LOST as a great show and calling it “Peak TV”. This is surprising to me as pop-culture remembers the show as a frustrating pointless mess with no pay-off. J.J. Abrams’ Mystery Box is a reviled concept, almost a joke.

    Dear Disney,

I’d like a sequel series starring Michael Emerson and Jorge Garcia in which Ben and Hurley, as the new stewards of the island, travel through time fixing the plot holes from the first series run. You can have this idea for free. Thanks.

I’m about two-thirds of the way through a rewatch that I started near the beginning of the year – first time I’m watching all of it again since it first aired – and it holds up incredibly well. I think I appreciate it even more watching it without so much time in between episodes and seasons.

The fourth season episode “The Constant” is one of the best hours of TV ever made.

Lost captured such a unique specific genre of television that has yet to be matched or topped. I’m not saying it’s the best but what it managed to pull off while at its peak of popularity was amazing. Since the Sopranos ended, you could put a few shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad right up there along with it as some of the best shows ever. No show has managed to have a sustained run of mystery, mythology and lore. Westworld is recent big budget example of shows trying to capture that vibe. It was great but quickly fizzled out. The first season of Severance was the best thing I’ve seen that can compare to Lost.

I was rewatching some episodes lately and it is amazing how great this show still looks for something that aired 15 years ago. Thanks to it’s on-location shooting and being on shot 35mm film (the later of which almost no one does anymore) it looks better than almost anything on streaming these days that is not named House Of The Dragon or Rings of Power.
