Credited as a pioneer of the constructivist theory, which suggests that people actively construct their knowledge of the world based on the interactions between their ideas and their experiences.
“And that shelf over there is we’re I keep my um extra special collection of literature”
Cue the Hoarders theme music
“Mind if I smoke in here ?”
Library with _none_ of the spines showing‽
Jordan Peterson would shit himself if he saw this picture
“Why did you go into psychology?”
“My mental illness.”
Discoverer of the Hoarding Disorder.
Looks like ADHD kicks him well
I always think of this scene in Spider-Man (2001) whenever I thunk of my messy ass house:
Norman: Bit of a slob, isn’t he?
Aunt May: All brilliant men are.
Obviously I am a genius like the man above and therefore can have pants on my floor
Today he’d just have a laptop
That’s the way it goes with these complicated and astute minds
Needs a reference manager
Imagine being the person who had to digitize all those records.
He died in an avalanche soon after.
I relate to this work desk too well
My desktop looks like that dudes house.
Bloke could do with a Kindle
Any idea what that machine(?) or item is that he is touching?

Homie was just tryna bust a thick one… then some fucking reporter flys in to snap a photo
Einstein’s office looked like this.
Way to…I dunno…do whatever the fuck you did. Super important stuff I’m sure.
Poor guy finally had the time to read all those books and then breaks his glasses
He looks impatient while waiting for Hoarding to be added to the DSM or for the TV show to be invented.
Work from Home before the internet.
This is what happens without computers. When all information is stored in books.
.. and hoarder
Now that’s all on an iPad
Some people get crazy with books like on a level I can’t even understand. When I was in college I had a philosophy teacher and all he did was read. He would get new books like every few days and he said at any one time he’d be working his way through 5-8 books. One day I got an email saying “class is cancelled. I had an emergency and cant make it.” When we saw him at the next class meeting he explained what happened. He lives in a mobile home (trailer in a trailer park) and has a 3 bedroom place. One of those bedrooms is his library where he keeps all the books he’s read. He had so many books in his library that the fucking floor gave out and and 2 bookshelves were sitting on the ground 2 feet below the floor level. I couldn’t even imagine owning and reading that many books over a life time.
My Google chrome with it’s un-closed tabs:
I am a big admirer of his organizational style.
Old school cool or hoarding?
This one weird pic that makes archivists weep.
I think that library must be the entire internet of those days.
I think he needed to see a psychologist. Insane hoarding.
I had a professor in college whose office looked similar to this. He literally had papers stacked from floor to ceiling in his office. I went to visit him a couple semesters after I took his class because I wanted to take a look at my final exam. I asked him for it and told him which semester I took his class. His first response was, “That’ll be 3 feet 6 inches.” Then he pulled out his measuring tape, measured 3’6” from the floor and found my exam. Still blows me away to this day.
I wonder how that looks from a different angle.
Wow he’s a mess he looks like he’s on the Hoarder show
A hoarder. A hoarder of academia but a hoarder non the less.
I am Jack’s Medulla Oblongata
I hope someone intervened on his behalf. This does not look like a healthy environment.
This week on “Hoarder Rescue”…The Professor and the library from Hell.
Professors desks often look like this, yet you can ask them for a subsection of a project they were drafting years prior and they’ll be able to find it in thirty seconds.
I have loads of books accumulated over a lifetime, and I’m certainly not above clutter, but that would drive me mad.
I think he was a hoarder…
Now all that information can fit on a thumb drive.
It’s always the brilliant people that are absolutely fucking nuts. #Hoarder
Makes me want to sneeze, what’s wrong with hoarders, that’s just tinder waiting to be 🔥
Computers were a wonderful invention
