Speaking of which, my favorite cover of the original is from Datsun. Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/4BE7X9O1mVNsw5Ejs0doTi
YouTube: https://youtu.be/2uru-6ix98I
That’s great. Reminds me of the “Let it be” cover [“Letter B”.](https://youtu.be/WmVd9F1fW00) I still sing this version in my head when I hear the original.
This made my day.
It’s like when Elmo is president and calls the Pentagon and it’s a big Pentagon.
I do not remember ever seeing this one! TY. My personal fave was “Hip to Be a Square” (after Huey Lewis, obviously).
When I was young, for some reason I found this one really funny;

Song slaps
Holy fuck this was my absolute favourite bit.
Been looking for this for 30 years.
Thanks so much.
[Bruce Springbean’s “Barn in the USA ” is my favourite ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z5N6sfdrp9I)
They don’t make puppets like these anymore
Steve Stevens kills it 🎸
La LA ***LA***
This is amazing! Thank you so much!
This version is much better quality: https://youtu.be/wwlji3hpL-c
[Cereal Girl](https://youtu.be/nuSoXIbgNmM)/Material Girl
I love these old parodies! My favorite will always be [“U really got a hold on me”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws_vnXup7so).
Cop: “YOU’RE TOO LOUD!!!!”
This takes me back to that Death Note clip from [AMV Hell](https://youtu.be/W_jvwEZ_qTg)
I love Oscar and “Mucklemore” doing “Thrift Shop.”
https://youtu.be/STH9ZpeFH2o
They also did a cover of the Beatles “Let it Be” as “Letter B” —
“…spelling words like *bustop* — letter B….”
This has always been Sesame Street’s judo move. Over and above the educational content, it’s content for kids that’s fun for parents to watch, too. It encourages shared time between parent and child, and that itself has a whole bunch of developmental and emotional health benefits for the child.
The fucking edits where the picture flips are hilarious
OMG I haven’t seen this since I was little! What a blast from the past!
Old school Sesame Street had some amazing funky music.
Sesame Street writers must have such fun coming up with such great parodies over the years. I am always impressed by their hard work!
R E B E L L
I remember the **L** folding itself as it danced. It has to be over 30 years since I’ve seen or thought of this segment.
If you slow the playback speed to .5, the vocals (especially the chorus) are hysterical.
The vocals from the policewoman are incredible. Damn.
Ohhh how this brings back memories. Love Sesame Street. This Billy idol cover was it!!!
[REM performing Furry, Happy, Monsters](https://youtu.be/J9G1FhQUnSo). I absolutely LOVE the Kate Pierson Muppet!
When I was a kid, if you were on the Simpsons, or parodied by them, you had “made it”
30+ years later, here I am with my son. If you’ve been on Sesame Street or profiles by them, you’ve made it.
Also, back in the mid 80s Elmo was my jam.
Now that I’m pushing 40, Cookie Monster is where it’s at. He represents that concept of impulse we all have, and work daily to control. Very relatable…
Also his version of Call Me Maybe (Share it Maybe) is a slapper.
The drug dealer pushing the letter O is still my favorite…https://youtu.be/3c8iU8pHZrQ
The original “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Reckon they’ll do a parody of WAP?
I think I’ll be changing my username to iheardthelittlel
My personal favorite is the one with Prince. https://youtu.be/TG4PqmShvHI
Personally, nothing will ever beat [Gonzo dancing with himself](https://youtu.be/b-VPgyMAfM4)!
I always wanted the Foo Fighters to parody “Pretender” on Sesame Street.

So good!
This reminded me more of Cradle of Love, and this muppet dance Eric Stoltz did to make a girl laugh in some romantic comedy
Anyone remember the Bruce Springsteen one “Barn in the USA”?
Also legendary
Not gonna lie, its a bit infuriating how the puppeteer makes one additional open mouth motion after a sentence is already finished.
This takes me back, way far back.
Born To Add is still my favorite. https://youtu.be/T3dOuJnt9EQ
[The ZZ Top one](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iMHTw6yy8_o&feature=emb_title) was my favorite as a kid, years before I even knew who ZZ Top were.
