Y’all might just be interested to know… this riddim can be traced back to Randy Newman. Randy Newman’s “Baltimore” to be specific. Nina Simone did a cover with an American band, but in a reggae style, then the JA band Tamlins did their own cover, then it was dubbed by Scientist, and subsequently has become canon within the riddim community. Blew my mind.
