It’s weird seeing a WiiU pad without an inch of dust on it.
When I was hospitalised as a child, the starlight foundation helped make mine and many other children’s time much more enjoyable and bearable. They had this room called the starlight room with beanbags, and a big projector screen with a GameCube and 4 wireless controllers (wireless controllers were a big deal back then) I remember making friends with the other kids playing smash bros and Mario kart on the big screen. They also had these portable game stations that would wheel inti the rooms and you could play games from your bed. I remember super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64 being on them. It was a fun way to socialise with other kids and it just brightened an otherwise gloomy and depressing time for many of us

The Wii and Wii U are probably the most suitable consoles to have in a pediatric unit.

I remember, back in the early days of the PS3, setting my PS2 up in the pediatric theater waiting room, of the local hospital, with a load of age appropriate games.

I remember being hospitalized in 99. There were tv carts with n64 and super Nintendo.

Children’s hospitals will take donations for stuff like this. My local one takes old wedding dresses, game stations, gently used toys that are able to be sterilized, beads, necklaces, etc. It’s cool everything g they do for the kiddos

I spent a lot of time in Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia when I was young, and let me tell you, when they rolled in the cart with the old CRT tv with the NES hooked up and a Tupperware container full of games, my day got a lot better.
