Pretty funny, but I cannot help but think that Roy held back when he shouldn’t have and gave too much ground on topics that are still controversial.

I liked Michelle Wolf’s corespondents dinner years ago where she directly roasted the media for not doing their job. Here again we are with a media who is now being punished (libel/slander lawsuits) for not doing their jobs and Roy’s hitting all of the expected targets, rather than putting the media’s feet to the fire. The jokes about Clarence Thomas though were pretty brutal. The Kamala bits did not hit at all for me. Pretty simple stuff and still came across as belittling her.

Like Roy Wood Jr. He was cool and casual. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just a workmanlike appearance.

The audio is always odd at this gig but there were a few jokes that were perfectly good but the crowd gave no love because they were edgy. Butter knife edgy, but yeah.

I just sat here and watched the entire thing. Man, it was pretty good. Respect to Roy Wood Jr, I’m not always a fan of his humor. I am more so now

“Half of y’all think I’m Kenan Thompson, the other half think I’m Louis Armstrong, President Biden thinks I’m the daddy off Family Matters.” This would’ve killed if he put Louis Armstrong at the end, as it stands it’s just confusing. Makes me wonder if Biden’s team stepped in and said it was one old age joke too many but he goes way harder than this throughout the routine.

Excellent. We all have to not take ourselves so seriously and use the power we do have wisely. Criticism of the wealthy makes their self-threat alarms ring. Somehow humor, in its odd self-affirming way, has the assignment of making the audience more charitable when explaining why they have won or lost. Or even better, in helping acknowledge “hard truths” about injustices perpetrated against the powerless. Here’s to humor! Here’s to the court jester who can unveil the truth.

NFT 101, well explained – You can see em but is owned by someone, typically a billionaire. Not just a justice, but a lot of politicians. Damn that was good, Trump as an NFT of Putin.

“Mr. President, we need to get Tucker Carlson back on the air. Right now there are millions of Americans that don’t know why they hate you”

    🤣
