Wow, you really can’t tell that Rick and Morty have different voice actors…

Morty sounds fantastic. I can’t notice much of a difference. Rick’s voice is decent but missing a little bit of an oomph.
Gonna take some time to get used to the new voices. They have the “energy”, but the voice just isn’t a perfect match…Especially for rick, I feel.
The new voices are surprisingly close but there’s almost an uncanny valley thing going on because of it. I almost think it’d be better if they sounded completely different and it was explained with some multiverse explanation or handwaved as a joke. otherwise, looks like a pretty good season.
Is it just me or does Rick’s voice sound different? Like the voice actor was not enthused while recording🤔
Rick’s voice sounds ever so little off when he yells. Otherwise, he sounds good, and I’m looking forward to the season. Also, I hope Ice T isn’t a tease and we actually see him.

there’s maybe 3 brief moments in the whole trailer it didn’t sound precisely exactly like Justin. So fucking kudos to whoever they got to replace him.
Sorry I find it extremely noticeable. Still going to give the season a chance obviously, but people saying it’s identical are delusional
I won’t notice after 1 episode. I already got used to corvo and that’s a way bigger change.

Definitely notice the difference, but it’s close enough.
It’s clear they didn’t use Mortysays (mortysays1949 on youtube), curious as to why as he is 100% perfect for both roles.
Incoming unpopular opinion:
The voices suck because the lines aren’t being emoted correctly. It’s not that he doesn’t sound exactly like Rick, it’s that he’s bad at voice acting. This felt really hollow and weird. It felt like a fake fanmade trailer.
For the Community fans out there, this feels like if Donald Glover left the show and they just had someone else come in to play Troy who just did their best Donald Glover impersonation. It doesn’t matter how good of an impersonation it is, it’s still kind of unsettling and obviously just an impersonation.
I’d rather they just nixed those two characters altogether and try to keep making a great show, but it’s an obvious kowtow to what I assume the majority of the fans want: more of the same shit, even if it’s shit, as long as it’s the same.
Should have just changed the title to “Mick and Roland” and just made new characters.

People were saying “something’s off” on a previous teaser when they reused voice clips from previous seasons. The replacements are good enough for me.

the problem is it sounds like someone doing a really good impression of rick and morty. It does not sound like someone doing a natural voice. It is so dry and emotionless, just listen to the last line where he says “were back baby”. It sounds like someone is holding him at gun point and ordering him to say the lines
He was acquitted of Domestic abuse charges. There are still accusations of alleged sexual abuse with fans, including minors that he has not been cleared of. Just stating this as there are multiple comments about him being cleared so why isn’t he back.

Something’s not right. Delivery or something is WAAAAAAASY less funny. Everything in that trailer felt forced.
What am I missing?
Edit: I see, they changed actors. Voices sound the same enough. Delivery and intent are completely different. Without a REAL asshole voicing these characters, they lack authenticity.
I think they should not have tried to sound like the old ones, just makes me think of slithery Roiland. Give them two new voice styles. Ah well, too late.
I’m a professional voice actor so it’s hard to sneak anything past me on this stuff. That being said, went into it looking for the differences, and I’ll say they’re pretty slight. Can’t really complain. As long as they still have that frenetic energy, I don’t think it will skip a beat.
Roiland contributed basically nothing.
Dan Harmon and the writing team did everything that mattered.
Everyones gonna notice the little difference in voice (id say theyre 90% on point but when it gets outside of normal convo into screaming or the sounds they make while doing R&M noises its slightly off) but after the second episode and mixing everyone in with them, itll be unnoticeable. I think they nailed it.
If the new VA’s sound this good already it’s only going to get better.
Rick does definitely sound different on some reactions but honestly I’m fine with it
