Peach sounds hot. &Jack Black’s doing great as gravelly Bowser. Pratt is… straight miscast.
Would it be worth delaying the movie to recast Mario? I think it would be much easier than reanimating cursed Sonic. Everyone else in their role kills it, so it’s a shame that Mario is so miscast.
Luigi, Peach, Bowser, and Toad sound great, and Mario sounds better than the last trailer!
I don’t mind them. A bit better than Mario’s regular “yupeeeee!” and the other two or three phrases he normally has.
Tbh it still looks like it’ll be a fun movie.
Ok, but what if Pratt had done a Brooklyn accent instead of… whatever we’ve got going on here. He’s not even half assing what Charles Martinet would be doing and voice acting is clearly not one of his talents. Despite that, He’s still only about one-eighth assing his role.
I remember turning on Mario 64 for the first time and hearing Martinet’s voice. “WTF is this? Why doesn’t he sound like Lou Albano? What is this Italian stereotype Mickey Mouse knock off?” However, I got used to the change. This is a movie. Hours of booth work. Martinet is almost 70. Doing the Mario voice for that amount of time, (and the Luigi voice. Hell, even DK.) would be torturous. Plus, a movie worth of full lines instead of “Bibbity boobity Pizza Pasta So Long Gay-Bowser.” just MIGHT be unappealing to some. Charles will ALWAYS be Video Game Mario. But Crisp Ratt is movie Mario now and if the movie finally does the franchise justice, I’ll learn to live with it.
I hope bowser has a lot of screen time, Because Jack Back alone can make this a great movie. I’m super excited
Honestly beside Chris Pratt as mario, the rest of the cast is fine, Jack Black did “monstrous ” performance as Browser
The lifeless of princess peach voice in this movie is something. My son complained about Toad having a normal voice as well.
I liked Bowser and Luigi.
I really don’t have a problem with the voices so far, Pratt was definitely a weird choice, but he’s a good actor so I trust he’ll try to sound Mario-like enough without making it sound corny or strained

I know it is in the game as well but at least they’re bigger so it filled in the space.
I mean Jack Black is kicking out of the park with his Bowser but no surprises there tbh.The rest are meh.Overall looks like a really fun movie!!

Iffy about Pratt. The french version of thr money sounds much more accurate for Mario. Sadly I do not speak or understand french.

Jack Black sounds fuckin sick as Bowser and Charlie Day’s scream was funny af, but that lame ass “wahoo” and other soundbites from Pratt deflated tf out of me. Not a big deal, but kinda sucks since he sounds so plain compared to the French & Brazilian actors. Was waiting to hear some more from him before I judged, but he sounds bored af.

I’m not sure what people were expecting. Did you think they were going to make a feature film with falsetto Mario doing nothing but squeaking out MAMA MIA! OKEE DOKEE! or Peach saying “YA!” ,… “HERE we go!”
You can’t make a real movie story using nothing but dumb video game exclamations.
Honestly, Chris Pratt was the only questionable one. I’m sure I’ll get used to it when watching the movie.
Aside from that it looks pretty good.
As a 35 year old man, this movie wasn’t made for me. Its made for kids, and I’m ok with that. People need to remenber that when it releases. Its made for kids with winks at the parents.
If this movie succeeds…it just means we’re closer to the Smash Bros extended universe.

I think everyone’s voices are actually pretty good for the cast. *Especially* Jack Black’s Bowser.

the only issues i have so far are mario’s voice and peach’s design, other than that, i believe it can be very enjoyable to watch.

It is honestly a crime to have casted Chris Pratt. I’m sure there are dozens and dozens of Italian actors that would have been perfect to play Mario.
