˝Band from Arnhem with singer Charly Jansen, keyboardist René Visser, bassist Lex Sietsma and drummer Peter de Kok. Originated from Pecasse.˝
˝Princes of Peace played punk-ish wave in the spirit of the Only Ones, Undertones and the like. The band originated from Pecasse, a project by Pierre Beek. Charly Jansen was the important man in the band, he wrote the songs and also sang them. Princes of Peace made a picture disc for its own Royalty label and with it came into the then tip parade. After recording the second single (It Won’t Be Long Now), the band fell apart due to money problems.˝
˝In 1987 the band made a remarkable return by winning a video clip in a VPRO program. This resulted in a TV appearance and a number of performances with new songs that Jansen made after a five-year stay in America.˝
˝The band once played live on Radio 3 in Vara’s Lijn 3 for an hour and did a well-attended tour through the Netherlands to promote the picture disc that started in Paradiso and ended in Musis Sacrum.˝
˝Princes Of Peace’s legendary single ‘X-ray Proved’ from late ’79. Best single EVER from Arnhem!? Released as a picture disc with a Gulden as an image. A tribute to Juliana, who handed over her crown to Bea in early 1980.˝
