I had a plane like this when I was a kid. It had a little engine that hand started and a string to control the flaps. You spin around in a circle until it crashed and you didn’t have a plane anymore. Good times!

Before RC planes,there were”tethered” model planes you held and steered with a wire.You can do lots of stuff,but the surest way to stay airborne is circling.Had a P-51 mustang model as a kid in the 70’s.
