    >“Peter Pan & Wendy,” a live-action reimagining of the J.M. Barrie novel and the 1953 animated classic, will begin streaming April 28, 2023, exclusively on Disney+. Check out the teaser trailer and poster for the original movie directed by David Lowery (“The Green Knight,” “Pete’s Dragon”), and get ready to experience the timeless adventure featuring the beloved characters like never before.

    >”Peter Pan & Wendy” introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl looking to avoid boarding school who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever. The film stars Jude Law (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”), Alexander Molony (“The Reluctant Landlord”), Ever Anderson (“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”), Yara Shahidi (“Grown-ish”), Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Joshua Pickering (“A Discovery of Witches”), Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker (“House of Cards”), Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”), and Jim Gaffigan (“The Jim Gaffigan Show”). “Peter Pan and Wendy” is directed by David Lowery from a screenplay by David Lowery & Toby Halbrooks (“The Green Knight”) based on the novel by J. M. Barrie and the animated film “Peter Pan.” The producer is Jim Whitaker (“Pete’s Dragon”), with Adam Borba (“A Wrinkle in Time”), Thomas M. Hammel (“Thor: Ragnarok”), and Toby Halbrooks serving as executive producers.

In theory Jude Law seems like a good choice to play Captain Hook, but he looks so weird in this trailer. I guess nobody can ever top Dustin Hoffman’s performance in Hook

Too much unnecessary CGI. They brought us to Never Never Land back in Hook and that movie was mostly practical. CGI should be used like a tool and not a crutch. CGIing so much just makes it feel cheap.

Congrats to David Lowery on getting the bag, I guess. Hope he uses this to leverage another cool indie movie. I also think it’s insane that he’s done two Disney remakes and neither of them were The Black Cauldron. That feels like it should be a no brainier

  • What_The_Fuck__Brain

Hmmm…. why does Neverland look like the west coast of Ireland?

Didn’t get a fantasy vibe from the location/setting at all – was half expecting Colin Farrell and the rest of the Banshees cast to show up.

WHY! IS! THIS! TRAILER! SO! INTENSE! Every beat is like the end of the universe. It’s a children’s story for christsake. The trailer is at an 11 when it needs to be at a 2.

I think this looks like lots of fun! I’m not expecting anything different from the story, the visuals seemed quite nice for a Disney+ release. That clocktower shot was lovely. I’ll watch!

I hearby nominate “Were you expecting someone else?” as the most cliche bit of movie dialogue of the last 20 years.

Awesome to see Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Tiger Lily. Now we can forget about the misguided casting in 2015’s “Pan.”

Edit: Thanks for the downvote, whoever. Excuse me for preferring accurate casting for characters of color instead of whitewashing. Jerk.

You’ve seen peter pan, Peter pan, Peter pan, Peter pan, Peter pan, Peter pan, Peter pan, and Peter pan. Now, prepare for … Peter pan.
