Those are some legit dog sound effects
Peggy Lee was one of the best singers from this era. This is so great to view!
Hmm, somehow I doubt this film shows the actual take… seems more like a theatrical recreation….
such a wonderful voice…and i believe I recognize those four heads singing together
I’ve heard that Disney only paid her $4500 for her performance and the songs she wrote for Lady and the Tramp. Even when it was released on video. She had to sue.
One of my childhood faves, and I love this song. I’d love a version of it without the doggy sounds 😅
I ate lunch at a grocery store deli that had a wall “museum” dedicated to her. I read a lot about her while I ate, and didn’t retain a damn bit of it except her name was Peggy Lee and she sang this song.
Anyone else miss the days before auto tune?
Do they all do their parts together in one take? Man, that’s talent.
The 50s version in Spanish is amazing as well. The singer’s voice is very similar to Peggy Lee’s.
Those background guys are giving 100% to those dog sounds.
Pretty lady with a pretty voice what’s not to like
Lady and the Tramp is a fun movie.
I liked the part where the Tramp said “its Trampin’ time” and Tramped all over those dogcatchers.
Ugh, it’s not the whole song!!
❤️❤️❤️
I love how I can still sing along to every dog noise and inflection from that song from watching it as a child.
That last part is my favorite.
She looks like she’s trying her hardest not to bust out laughing at the guys
Adorable I could see myself being nostalgic if I was from this time
Why didn’t she blink the entire time
One of my favorite songs. Period.
This brought back such wonderful memories. Thanks for posting OP.
He is a devil…
I wish we could go back to these days. They were such good times. Everything was much more simple.
Those guys making the dog sounds remind me of my great grandfather. He shoveled elephant dung in the circus. When asked why he didn’t get a different job he replied, “What, and leave show business!”
Geezus.. What a Queen.. legendary .
Even though a lot was shit in the 50s there’s just something about it that makes my heart ache with longing 😛
Lol Nice Donald’s marketing
I love her voice. So many great songs, too.
Looks like Young Glenn Close
Dripping with old school class.
My favorite female voice! One of a kind
Is that all there is to this video?
Is that all there is?
This made me smile 🙂 also I never thought about how the dog sounds didn’t come from dogs, it makes sense now, I just never thought about it
I sing this. ☺️❤️ I’ve been told that I sound a lot like her. I take that as a huge compliment!
This song is like a core memory from my
Childhood…it was so cool to see the actual people performing it!
All the nostalgia feels!
🥰😍
Why does she look AI generated?

Pretty sure that’s a young Buddy Hackett at :22 second from the left. Great classic comedian and character actor.
The amount of strength to not laugh…
I loved this song as a kid.🖤🐾
God, I love footage like this. Any insight into animation and the process. I love how the sound effects were in designated spots from the start, likely following a storyboard. I always assumed that they had animation of the dogs barking and the vocal clip and inserted it where they thought it sounded best later. Super cool.
The furry national anthem.
The lost video to Spinal Tap’s black album single release.
Lady and the Tramp is probably the only Disney movie I ever loved. And I am just now finding out there’s video of this song. I love this! This is beyond awesome.
Fallout: Vegas is worth it just to hear her sing “Why don’t you do right” over and over.
Her version of Bali Hai on the American Beauty soundtrack is amazing.
