    As a german I have to state that Heil doesn’t always mean it’s the Nazi Salut.

    Heil is still just ‘Hail’ and there are still things like ‘Weidmannsheil’ (the way rich and/or noble Hunters greet eachother for Hunting-Events) that are used in certain cultural situations.

    In this Medival setting it is just a greeting like any other. Alternatively they could have used ‘Gottes Gruß’ but that wouldn’t work in a non-Christian setting.
