Yes, that is exactly how it works in many places without a robust sewer infrastructure.
That’s what happens when you travel out of a first world country. Lol. It’s very common.
Yep. Some sewer systems can’t handle toilet paper. They have a garbage can next to the toilet for it.
yup. my friend’s house is exactly like this. stuipd old plumbing. cant flush the tp at her house.
uh…yea…. why do you think we save all the grocery bags?!
Yep, OP. That is what you are supposed to do in many countries you hick.
Very common here (Thailand). Use a bidet or bum gun to clean, then toilet paper to tap it dry and throw in the thrash. You’re just throwing out wet towels so it’s not unhygienic.
do you not have a valid passport?
Welcome to the rice fields motherfucker
How it was for me living in Shanghai and many places I traveled to, not that abnormal to many people.
Posted by someone who’s never been out of their country lol
Wipe your ass then throw it in the trash? That’s truck stop etiquette.
At Trump’s hotel this reads “Flushing federal documents will cause blockage”.
Yeah this is kinda place a lot of places even in the United States like New York City. People have shit paper trash cans in their bathrooms because they’re plumbing so old it clogs up easily.
This is how it works in several countries…
This is why we switch to using three sea shells in the future.
It was like that when I was stationed in Kuwait. They actually had some Indian dude go in the stall after you finished to look for toilet paper in the trash can. If you flushed it, the first guy would hollar and the other Indian dude at the door would take a picture of you.
That’s why you carry a ass handkerchief. Wipe it, fold it up, then put it back in your pocket for later use.
Only in America that we have been so spoiled that we flush toilet paper and tampons down the toilet. The rest of the world put it in trash can.
So no, this isn’t funny. Just lack of awareness.
This was pretty common when I traveled to Europe.
Very very common in northern Mexico
It only specifies throwing. Laying it down softly into the toilet ought to do it
I don’t get why this is posted in r/funny. I also don’t understand why the OP doesn’t understand that this is a thing.
Most of South America is this way
We do this at my house. We have a conventional septic tank system and it can’t handle toilet paper, it overflows every time. We keep a decent size trash can in the bathroom for the tp to go in. I’d give anything to have city sewer.
That’s how it is in a lot of countries yep
Is this White House? I thought they fixed that when they kicked that orange thing to the curb.
OP obviously hasn’t been to SE Asia….
I just rinse them out and leave them on top of then dispenser for someone else.
this is common place in most of Mexico. just fyi.
Defiantly American since this is common in many countries.
This is very common in South Korea, though it’s changing. Sometimes I still see signs saying not to flush the toilet paper, and sometimes I see signs saying to indeed flush the toilet paper and not throw it in the trash.
Good you can read OP
in many countries this is normal
My childhood home was and still is like this (in the US). When my parents bought their home, they were promised that their neighborhood would be connected to a town sewage system a few years later. 40 years later, still never happened.
We had to throw our toilet paper in the trash because they were paranoid that the paper would block up their septic tank. It was super embarrassing to have friends over…
