I am so disappointed that I wasn’t shown tennis at a younger age. I only discovered it really last year, and I’m already 18 so it’s too late for me to actually get properly into the sport. Djokovic is my favourite player so far!

I lived in Germany growing up and played a bit of tennis. One day my mom is driving me by the the tennis courts and I see my tennis instructor flagging my moms car down. He looks crazy but she rolls the window down. He explains that Boris Becker is on the court playing with some kids and that I should get out and play. She was in a rush and had no idea who Boris Becker was, not did I. However she knew the instructor would not be going crazy over just anyone. Now I have the memory of playing with him for life. Unfortunately I was complete shit at tennis. Anyways that’s my story. Stop reading now.

He’s the man
I ran into him and his trainer in a NYC lobby during the US Open. He was sitting right next to me on a set of sofas in the lobby talking in Russian, joking, and laughing. Seemed like a very content person who was really enjoying life. I’ve always been a huge Nadal fan, but he’s one of my favorite athletes after seeing that.
Plot straight out of an anime. Reigning champion challenged by street rat. Street rat loses, promises his friend he will never lose again. Trains under the champion later.
How awesome that must have been for those kids.
