One minor critique for OP (assuming you made this) is that Guy rhymes with “see”, not “buy.”
My opinion on the interview with Peele is that he was kind of name dropping the book title. His use of the word in the interview is closer to its literal English meaning of the word (an overt display that commands attention). The critique in this video essay is ok but closer to Baudrillard due to its focus on simulation and semiotics (his books on the economy of the sign in particular). [This paper](http://www.parrhesiajournal.org/parrhesia20/parrhesia20_bunyard.pdf) that I’ve seen posted around reddit is a good antidote towards some common misreadings of Debord. It requires a bit of a philosophy background to understand, but the catch is that Debord’s writing style is often misleadingly simple and really does require this kind of context to get the most out of. And also people often don’t read past chapter 3 lol
