I was going to say she doesn’t sound as Manc as I was expecting, she sounds more Cheshire/Chester/Wirral to me with the odd Lancashire sound, it made more sense when she said her mum’s a scouser
Probably means nothing but I find it interesting that the background theme they’ve chosen to use here is the first theme from the 2005/RTD revival. It’s been like 13 years since the RTD theme was used for the show and its marketing.

Also, holy shit, she’s only 18. So weird to see a new companion younger than myself.
I guess its just me, but I think its ridiculous that they’re having preview interviews before anything has even been put to film. First, filming is going to involve David Tennant for a few episodes, and we won’t see those until late 2023. By the time they get done filming Gatwa’s first story arc, we won’t be seeing those episodes until 2024 (probably late in the year as well).
A freaking lot can happen in 2 years. Hell, quite a few actors in major roles involved with the first Game of Thrones pilot were deliberately discarded for replacements. Gatwa may even have been able to line up other filming commitments before he gets to shoot Dr. Who.
