My dad (in the middle) and his family on a picnic in Iran in traditional Kurdish dress, 1970s

From left to right: my grandfather, unknown woman holding my dad’s baby cousin, my father, my grandmother, my uncle, and my great-aunt.

My dad’s from the city of Sanandaj in Kurdistan Province, Iran, but they moved to Tehran when he was 6. This is pre-revolution Iran and the women aren’t wearing hijab, it’s part of their traditional Kurdish dress which they only wore on special occasions. I’m not sure if this photo was taken in Tehran or a vacation back in Sanandaj.
