That’s a negative, Ghost Rider.
The only appropriate response.

Yer going for the Rams then?
O – H!
I’m sure he knew what he was in for before he called. You should have come back with ‘sure for 3x pay in writting’
So that’s a no then?
I’m drunk is the best way to go, they have no way of arguing against that.
Damn buckeye!
I wonder how many bosses, when told by an employee, who is at home watching the Super Bowl, that (s)he was too inebriated to drive, would still press for them to come to work.
Hopefully you only took one shot, just to say no!
When I’m not on call and a situation arises that may need me..my boss starts the call with “would you like some overtime” and “can you drive” I don’t drink. But I smoke weed (legal here)
Fuck OSU
O-H
Go Bucks!
Edit: O H – I O is the chant for the Super Bowl 😅
I would have fired you for your choice of tequila.
Go Blue!
Sunday looks good, how’s Monday?
Go Bucks!!!
Your boss, seeing that you chose to support Ohio State, knew that your judgement was compromised and dangerous.
Go Blue!
As a pilot this gets used quite a bit. “Can you come in and cover a flight?”
“Sorry just cracked open a beer. Call me back in 8 hours and I probably won’t answer then”
Good on yah. I keep my phone set to personal focus when off work and have told my employers as much.
When I’m off work, I’m off work. That means I don’t take calls from anyone outside my personal life and my phone is set so that I won’t see any notifications from anyone until my next work day.
That’s a negative ghost rider.
I don’t get why people who aren’t on call answer the phone or respond at all in these situations, there isn’t going to be any conversation with me because I’m not going to pick up or respond. Come Monday if asked I reply with “I wasn’t around my phone at the time you called/texted and when I finally saw it it was so late I figured there was no point getting back to you.” No boss has ever had much to say after that.
Go Blue
Your thumb looks like a big toe
Go blue
Coughed like a bitch.
My policy for trying to cover shifts was to reach out and ask and if they said no then that was the end of that conversation. I hated bosses that would try to guilt trip you and make you come in. It doesn’t matter what the hell they are doing, it’s their day off and if they want the day then they have no obligation to come in. Plus if you force them to come in they’ll be unhappy AND feel manipulated by you. For me, yeah, it sucks that they cant come in, but at the end of the day I would rather show my employees that respect in the hopes that they return it to me on my days off.
It’s Super Bowl Sunday.. fuck work lol
Hmm, using the OSU shot glass to convince him you aren’t intelligent enough to work. It’s a brave move Cotton (kidding, but as a Michigan alumn, couldn’t resist…)
OH NO
My buddy is a cook/bartender who fucking hates football, so he’s getting double time and 90% of the tips as everyone else is at home watching the super bowl.
Mf puling like $150 an hour right now.
Fuck your boss. Who expects someone to say yes to coming in to work during the super bowl??
I mean, it’s the same reason that other person called off.
The term hero gets thrown around a lot lately, but…
I was beyond frustrated with work during the week before a vacation. I announced to my coworkers (and boss) “when I am off next week my computer will be off. I will be too drunk to respond to text messages so DON’T EVEN TRY.” Probably not my best moment but it did work.
This is the way
Why would anyone respond to a text or email on your day off? Just ignore it.
lol you guys respond to text messages?
