Again, like with the new adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, almost nothing from the source material except for the vampirism.

I like vampire shows but I wish if you are going to make an adaptation, make an *actual* adaptation. Though I am still going to watch this because….you know, I like vampire shows.

America already remade the original movie, now they have to turn it into a TV series. Why can’t they just make new vampire shows…

I hate Hollywood now its all sequels, requels, or reboots.

It’s been a while since I’ve read the book or seen either movies but this looks like another adaptation in name only. Hard pass from me.

Ah just go watch the original movie. It is a film classic. This TV series will be watchable, but it can’t beat the classic.

I’m not sure how you do more than one season of this. The whole premise is child vampires who never age, but child actors do age and pretty quickly.

Seems like way too much focus on the other characters. The original was a character study and this just looks too generic involving unnecessary plotlines.

I don’t see the point of this. As much as the story is intriguing, child actors expired like milk. Especially if you’re trying to create a show with an ageless child vampire. Unless this is intended to be a mini series, I don’t see this working out.

Happy for Demian Bichir. Really happy to see him grinding on the American scene. It’s a shame Grand Hotel got nuked because I really loved that show..

Hopefully he continues on the right path.

Meh, the original Swedish version is unsurpassed and this doesn’t look like anything special. And I really hate the practice of remaking foreign media for Americans. It’s weirdly arrogant since the underlying assumption seems to be that Americans won’t care to watch anything that’s not in English and made and played by Americans. What’s the point of making an endless stream of shit remakes of foreign films and tv series, especially if they’re well respected especially since it’s obvious that the American production won’t come close to the quality.

Feels like some years back, vampires all over the place

They just kind of disappeared at last but … now, they’re back!
