Surely i’m not the only one that thinks this. Arcane is the better show, but the award is not about that. When i watched edgerunners it was absolutely breathtaking how well Trigger captured the feel of Cyberpunk, both in the visuals and the story that punches you in the gut. Arcane is a show that keeps a fairly loose grip on the lore of the game and instead hyperfocuses on a handful of the characters. That’s not a bad thing, i love the game and i loved arcane. But as a result it is far weaker as an adaptation of the game. Arcane makes you fall in love with these characters and you don’t wanna let them go so you’re like well i can read the lore and i guess play the game :/ Edgerunners gives you such a complete sense of immersion that when you finish (crying) you’re like “holy shit i have to play this game” and when you do you’re met with the same vibes, the same locations, the same music, the same enemies, the same creeping sense of doom for the protagonist (lol), and it’s incredible. I only WISH i could have seen the show first and then played the game.
Everyone who believes arcane is the better adaptation (adaptation!!!) what’s your line of thought? Because at the moment it really is no competition for me.
The question isn’t “whats the best adaptation,” it’s “which of these adaptations is the best.”
Arcane and edgerunner are both adaptations, that’s not a question. And arcane is a better show, imo
I watched Edgerunners just yesterday and it was great but I thought it was a bit too cheesy & edgy.
Edgerunners let’s you experience more of the lore in the Cyberpunk universe. It grabs you by the balls. If you’ve never played the game, you’ll never understand why it means so much to fans of the Cyberpunk series. I play League of Legends sometimes. Arcane never grabbed me in any way. It looked good but there was no spark. Lore was changed. It feels like a fan made series that was spiced up for subscription services. I wanted a bang and I got a pop. Edgerunners after playing the game is like being hit by a truck. You know what you’re about to see but it grabs you and then you’re on a nonstop ride.
Exactly why I voted for sonic 2.
As someone who has no knowledge of League of Legends or Cyberpunk, I thought Arcane was infinitely better. Neither was bad, but I got bored with Edgerunners toward the end.
Neither are adaptations. They’re new stories set in their respective universes. And before any of you fucking nerds start replying to me saying I’m wrong, why is it that Cavil is leaving The Witcher show again? The show that everyone loves but Cavil is stepping away from because…….? The writers aren’t following the…….?
“Which adaptation is best”
You’re overthinking it. Which one is better? That’s it. And it’s Arcane
