Here’s a point to consider – there are hundreds (thousands?) of religions, each of which claims to be the “true” religion, with all others being “false”.
However, there is only one science, which applies to everyone and everything, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, etc.
Religion is based on faith, which is belief/acceptance when there is no evidence (and, sometimes, when the evidence contradicts the faith). So, religious leaders want you to believe, because they said so.
Science is based on evidence. Scientists welcome skepticism, and don’t discourage other viewpoints – as long as there is evidence to support those viewpoints. This is what makes science better.
