So what’s up with the menu? Can you play the OG and radical dreamers is the remake? Or is radical dreamers something like FFIV After Years where it’s an extension of the main game?
And what a great game it is to play over again. It feels like a very polished PlayStation 2 game if I were to describe its looks being rendered in higher definition.
I should probably play that to lol. I don’t have a sweet guide though
The game was so confusing to me back in the day even the guide didn’t help. The first and only game ever where I followed a step by step walkthrough.
Oof. Who’s gonna tell him about that remake?
I’m from Germany and when I was a kid me and a friend heard about a game called Chrono Trigger from another friend. We didn’t know anything about it only that its supposed to be awesome.
One day we looked through gaming magazines and there was an ad from a mail order game shop with a list of games.
Chrono trigger Hintbook for 30 Mark (around 15 USD) was one of the things he sold. We didn’t speak English very well and thought that must be that ominous game and ordered it.
Man were we disappointed when it arrived. We wanted a game and got a guide in english. Totally useless so we sended it back.
To this day I could slap my dumb past self for this. Nowadays i have to pay 200 dollars here in Germany if I can even find one in good condition.
Edit: i know OP is about Chrono Cross but i just remembered that story and wanted it to tell somebody.
I’m not going to lie here. I loved Chrono Trigger and back in the day I was excited to get Chrono Cross for PS1 and for some reason I never was able to finish it.
The other day I heard they have Radical Dreamers edition on Steam and I was like “well shit I’m gonna download and play it finally” and then I was reminded why I never finished it. I really really dislike this game. I just cannot get into it. More power to anyone who can play this game, but I just cannot. I get to the second city and I just don’t want to play anymore.
Interesting, I wanna try it.

Wait…there was a remake????
Loved this game as a kid and it really scratched the nostalgia itch when I got it on switch recently.
It holds up well enough too. It’s got that old school RPG charm and I love the environments in it.
I wish they’d do a real Re-make one day.
Chrono trigger is a masterpiece. Sadly chrono cross is a terrible game.
