Sadly Jellyfish is the poster child for “wrong place, wrong time”. During their five-year existence from 1989-1994 they attracted critical acclaim and a cult following, but struggled against prevailing trends like hair metal and grunge. Eventually breaking up due to poor record sales and friction between the band members.
I’d also highly recommend their song [New Mistake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkgvkKgZI5s&ab_channel=Jellyfish-Topic) as well.
The lead singer looks like Chris O’Donnell with beautiful luscious locks
Phenomenal band. So many great songs on both of their albums. Incredible production quality on both albums
All is Forgiven is a top top track.
The band was definitely more than the sum of its parts, but all their solo stuff is fantastic and a good window into what each of them brought to the table.
Front man / drummer Andy Sturmer disappeared from the limelight but wrote amazing music for Puffy Ami Yumi and others, as well as the Carl Stalling inspired orchestrations for the (also sadly short-lived) Looney Tunes Show (2011-2013).
Jason Falkner has some amazing rock/power pop in his catalogue. Roger Manning’s more synthy pop is wide ranging in style, and his soundtrack to a nonexistent Logan’s Run sequel is so good. Also: Moog Cookbook. Because yes.
Discovered these guys last year. One of my favorites
I don’t think I’ve heard this since 1990.
Love Jellyfish but I much prefer Jason Falkners solo stuff (the guitarist in green in case no one knows).
Great pop-rock tunes.
“Joining a Fan Club” and “The Man I Used to Be” are on constant rotation in my playlists
Spilt Milk is my bucketlist vinyl album. If you can find it for sale, it ranges from about $250 to $400. Too rich for me.
“Alt rock” is a pretty broad way of putting it.
Sadly, fate crashed their car.
