In my opinion, more First Person Shooters need a gun like the Parasite from Destiny 2, where it’s basically just the developers winking at you saying “Yeah, this weapon’s concept is absurd, even for our setting, and you know what? It still works!”

Oh, and in case you’re wondering what makes the Parasite so absurd, it’s a grenade launcher that shoots, I kid you not, worms.
It’s similar to Colony. I love the hive/semi sentient weapons and armor in the game!
There are many weird things and weapons in warframe. There is a sentient bow made from sentient bones given to you by a sentient to fight sentients.
Like that unicorn gun in Gears of War?
