Fascinating. I think he may be 92 though, based on a cursory Google search.
I apologize for being disappointed. I would have liked the interviewer to have gotten a bit more contextual information or any information at all that could be carried forward.

I surely didn’t find this informative. I’m sure there are other videos just like it. What he’s saying is written in all the books, essentially. It’s like listening to classical music, without the good music.
I want the blues recordings from the early 1900s, the native language dictionaries, and folk tales from each of their cultures. I’d like the information from the people who didn’t have an opportunity to have their culture spread. This? Does nothing for me. I’ve read about it dozens of times.

The part where he says he votes republican but used to vote for the whigs is so crazy. It also means he must have voted for Lincoln which also blows my mind.
I am so envious he stated he did not care to think of the future. It seems now every generation forward must do this.
