Me too, it was supposed to be amazing, but it ended up being just like any other game in the market just with a hacker theme…

I remember watching it and telling my then girlfriend now wife to shut up cause I was so amazed! 😅

And then we got what we got, which I still enjoyed but was no where near that video

The annoying thing was that for the pc at least the setting that the demo ran at were in the game. Just inaccessible.

I remember I used to watch the gameplay video EVERYDAY.. the game was okay but stupid me thought this is gonna be the GTA killer lol

The game that made Ubisoft untrustworthy forever (at least for me).

It was a victim of overhype. It’s a really good game and trying to follow up GTA 5’s over the top style with a serious game with dark themes is what put most people off.

Watch Dogs and The Division were the two games that made me stop pre-ordering games. Such hype only to get a completely different experience that was featured in demo videos.

I got bamboozled by the 48-minute “gamplay” footage of Cyberpunk and got so hyped for it that I bought a PS4 Pro, a 4K TV, and pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition.

I got the Platinum after about 3 weeks, but I haven’t been glad to own it since. The PS4 Pro and 4K TV were at least good investments, so 2 out of 3.

But I will NEVER be hyped for a game again.

I always get a giggle when this game is mentioned. It was one of my first PS4 games for the new generation and I went in completely blind never having heard of the game. Thought it was friggen amazing. Then I got online and found out I was supposed to hate it, lol. I still have the first and second Watchdogs installed.

Coincidentally, that was the LAST game I decided to be hype about. I remember getting so excited seeing the trailers and then the game came out and it wasn’t what they showed us at all.

In what department were you disappointed? Since I wasn’t in EA Demo hype train and played the game very late in 2021 with a graphics mod, This was one of the best campaigns i’ve played with a good story, banger soundtrack that fits every situation and the graphics mod made it looks almost as good as e3 and man it was so fun blacking out the city to escape big cop chases. I really recommend you replay with a graphics mod if you can.

It was oblivion for me. And it was the biggest disappointment in gaming history for myself because of all the misleading features and outright lies in their pre release “gameplay videos”. It’s the very reason why I don’t ever follow games before release.

So when watchdogs came around, I didn’t jump on the hype train or look into it at all because I learned from oblivion. Because of that, these games which were huge letdowns like watch dogs, cyberpunk, etc, have always been enjoyable for me because I have no expectations.

This game was one of the biggest disappointments I’ve ever had with video games followed by C&C Tiberian Twilight

  • rattletop

Me too but there were couple of others after like Witcher 3 that got me real hyped. Btw I can’t seem to find the original watchdogs E3 reveal video on YouTube. I remember seeing the reveal with wind blowing and stuff..

  • Thomas_JCG

It looked really neat from the trailers, the beautiful open world, the diverse hacking techniques that allowed you to flip any situation around… Then it gets released and it’s kinda meh. Thankfully I learned my lesson before pre-ordering it, it’s a good game but nowhere near the hype it produced.

The game is awesome. One of the games I enjoy playing the most.

    Second game is also awesome.

I’d love to see them do a Miami or Seattle based game.

Watch Dog 2 was my favourite tho, strong IP, That last watch dog really disappointed me tho, I like having a strong protagonist with an actual lore and background…not some generic grandma with a taser gun.

  • FlaccidWeenus

And then the game turned out to be complete trash. I haven’t even come close to touching another watch dogs game again and I never will.

Playing the Hide and Seek PvP thing was the most fun. There was one invasion I did where I was literally going around a semi-truck in circles a la Loony Toons to avoid being detected by the player.

I’m playing this lately and on a 2070 all the way up like I have never done before it still looks gorgeous as heck. The people may look a little dated in the streets but we got so much “realism” now-a-days it’s a nice break.

When at least the PC version would look that good at release it would not be that of a disappointed with graphics. I do played it on 360 and had lots of fun.
