I loved BL games but I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this game. What do you guys think? Worth it?

I didnt really enjoy it like i thought i would. Its fun. But i just couldnt get into it for some reason.
I enjoyed the initial playthrough of the game but it fell off pretty fast for me. The characters you play as feel a bit hollow and less fleshed out compared to past games, and i honestly dont think the DLCs are worth their retail value. If you can find a copy of the game for under $20 i’d say give it a shot if you’re really into BL games.
This is my favorite Borderlands game, but I also play Dungeons & Dragons.
Not as good as the other BL games, but still worth a play through – especially if you’re getting it through GameFly (which it looks like to me) because it’s not all that long and the replay value just isn’t as good as the other BL games.
Endgame is alright. DLCs suck
I really enjoyed the game. Tina’s imagination is a wild place and Valentine and Frette had hilarious back and forths that kept me laughing. Plus Mr. Torgue, ‘nuff said.
The loot dice system sucks ass
Love the concept, didn’t love the game. Not sure why. I played it once and never picked it back up.
Boring and repetitive
It was very lackluster…
Plus that price doesn’t even include DLC… If it did then maybe but still probably not
It was fun, but the loot drops were fairly mid. I’d say I swapped weapons every 5~ish levels. All the real fun stuff didn’t happen until I beat the game. The dice and marbles hunt was okay, but got old real quick.
Good for a single playthrough if that’s what you’re looking for, but if you’re looking for endgame/replayability it’s not very good.
The story is really fun and the gameplay is a good loop, but it doesn’t seem to have much in the way of endgame. It’s definitely a lot of fun if you enjoyed the other borderland games but I would definitely get it at a discounted price if possible. If you’re looking for a game to sink hundreds of hours into it’s probably not this game, but if you’re looking for a game that you can enjoy and play through a couple characters and enjoy the campaign maybe 50 60 hours this should do the trick
I loved the BL games too and I also have yet to play this. I have a buddy that said the game was good, but there was just way too much social justice warrior bull shit in it. He said it was to the point that it really got on his nerves.
Possibly the best borderlands
The story is a decent enough with a few laughs. The post game and DLC are naff though.
I mean…
Its a first person shooter…..it plays like all other first person shooter. Total garbage. Totally lazy.
I borrowed it from the library and really enjoyed it. It got better as it went along.
It’s pretty much just more Borderlands
The gameplay felt like a step back from Borderlands 3, and I say this playing TTWL first and BL3 after.
Loot didn’t matter. Everything was automatically leveled to the player, weapon variety pretty weak with only legendaries feeling actually unique and only certain kinds like the stacking stickybomb ones feeling meta. Classes just being really watered down “pick your damage ability”.
The dice hunting is a gigantic pain in the ass, yet you’re feel obligated to do it because of the buffs it gives.
Borderlands 3 story might suck but its just so much better as a game.
I found I really enjoyed it. Played it coop all the way through and I’d say its worth it. Can’t say about the DLC as I’ve not tried them, but the main game at least is worth a play through.
I found it lacking the borderlands charm. I can’t really pinpoint what it was that made this game like a 6 out of 10 for me instead of Borderlands solid 9 out of 10. Just something was missing.
Im honestly tired of the Borderlands formula, and this was just more of the same.
The game itself is one of the best in the franchise with some major caveats. The gameplay and classes and your ability to mix and match the different subclasses to create different play styles is super enjoyable. But the game suffers from a complete lack of endgame content and really bad dlc.
Once you beat the game you unlock something called a chaos chamber which is like encounters with ever-increasing difficulty until you get to the max level. It’s really enjoyable, but it is literally the only thing to do in the end game, so it gets repetitive and boring.
So anytime they introduce any kind of new level cap or higher level loot, you’re basically just running through the chaos Chambers so you can get loot so you can be stronger to run through the chaos chamber.
Then the DLC just adds a short quick boss encounter that then adds that boss to the chaos rooms as random encounters.
So I would say that I enjoy playing this game as much or more than any of the others, but I ran out of things to do in this game faster than any of the other games.
I loved it for what it was. But mainly I was just cracking up to the commentary and the whole world they built.
I’m gonna be honest with you. Yes i know this response is about 5 to 6 hours late but work and all. Buuuuuut, there’s a few laughs but in all honesty, no the game is kind of disappointing from its predecessors. There’s a lot to live up to even having some great voice overs from lovely actors, and favorite past characters. But the game play doesn’t feel the same, the legendaries aren’t the best, and the classes you choose are kind of boring and dumb, and yes I have beaten the game 3 times with different friends each time just to see if my opinion would change. I would honestly just watch a walk through of it instead of buying it.
