I feel like it’s ridiculously drawn out
(X) Doubt
I had a hard time liking this game for 3 main reasons :
* I felt like every fight was the same than the previous one. Throw shit towards enemies, break their guard, attack and start over. That’s a shame that you can’t properly juggle with the enemies in the air for example. That’s something I really like in beat’them’all/A-RPG games.
* No fan service. I’m not being a pervert but that’s what I’m waiting for when I’m playing an anime game. Scarlet Nexus is way too serious about what it wants to be. For example, Code Vein was not an amazing Souls-like game but great animations and fan service made it fun to play in my opinion.
* I didn’t especially like the story. As I said before, t’s way too serious ; I can’t even remember any memorable funny scene and the staging isn’t helping. Dialogs in the form of static images isn’t very entertaining.
However, the music was pretty cool : I really liked the futuristic/dubstep style of the OST. I even added it to my music library on Apple Music. The graphics were an absolute eye candy and the visual effects in battle (like the colored trail of your sword when you attack) were cool and fitted well to the futuristic atmosphere of the game.
I haven’t played many games in that style, but the visuals caught my eye. If it’s on game pass I might give it a try!
can’t comment on story since all I care about is gameplay, fantastic JRPG otherwise….my only issue with it is that they give you access to all characters so defeated the purpose of another run or NG+ since I played it on hardest difficulty and was a case of “been there, done that”
would have gone for round two if each of the main characters had their own party members…
btw the creator said they’re planning part 2 sometime in the near future
got the platinum. liked it. not the biggest fan of the story, but the combat/gameplay was cool.
