I still believe I will own one before I die lol
I forget if it’s GT 1 or 2, the Viper license test on Laguna Seca was the bane of my existence at the time and taught me that the Viper was cool but couldn’t stay on the track
Now I own my favorite Subaru from GT4
Old school games setting unrealistic standards… I’m still looking for a girl with PS 1 Lara Croft’s breasts.
dude same too bad the prices for them are shot through the roof.
I used to play this a *lot* back in the day. I remember thinking at the time that the graphics were friggin amazing.
Many winters later, I got to play it again in a hotbox of a shipping container in the Balkans, and the graphics were so low res that I genuinely had issues differentiating between objects. It was crazy how different the experience was.
white viper with the green stripes was sweet
Mistubishi Puma GTO was the best 🙂 aka the 3000GT
Out of curiosity, I looked online and found a ’95 for $30k. That’s about the price of a new car today.
If you own a Viper you have very little time left to grow up anymore
Best car on the game. Loved this car.
Dude me too i thought when i was a grown up i could get any of those cars…boy i was wrong
In my area a 95 RT-10 for 30k. I’m tempted man
This game looked way better in my memory.
I remember the graphics being better.
nice man, we’ve become spoiled compared to this pixelated mess.
I feel ya op.
I always wanted the cosmo 20b, now I have 1.
Gran Turismo 5 made my dream car become a 69 corvette
Didn’t we all.
I did a speech in my high school Oral Comm class about the Dodge Viper due to this game. That’s a memories I could’ve done without.
To y’all complaining about graphics, they WERE better on Crt tv’s. With modern crisp displays you get a picture that’s more difficult to look at.
I remember thinking graphics can’t get much better than this.
Still waiting till I can buy a 04-07 sti. Time will tell.
don’t forget to slap those gear ratios as far right as possible to get around 230 plus mph
Felt the same way. Got one pre Covid and it’s as fun and terrifying as I expected. Like the game, very hard keeping the back end from swapping places with the front end.
Mee too buddy, mee too..
Oh man I love the Viper. Still my #1 favorite car, not out of practicality but just pure awesomeness. That all started with GT1 on the PS1, and completing most of everything got me free coins in GT2 and GT3, allowing me to buy the Viper immediately in those games too 🙂
The first Gran Turismo was a pretty good game. I liked the soundtrack, too.
Viper sucked, Mitsu 3000 Gt Vr4 all the way!
Yeah, I wanted one too. Ended up with Challenger though, so still cool I guess.
I can’t talk myself in to buying a super car. It just doesn’t seem worth it.
GT 1 and 2 were so fun
Man, for some reason i’ve always been unable to get away from the first two entries in the series despite new, and subjectively better entries. I solely credit them for my love for cars today, and because of that i’ll be sure to pass this one on to future generations in one way or another somehow.
