My GF and I are playing through this together and we are having a good time building decks and challenging ourselves with runs. I give it a major plus for supporting cross-platform multiplayer, since she is on Xbox and I am on PC

Ah damn, for 1 dollar I would definitely enjoy the game. I actually bought it full price with dlc and I’ve only played it a hand full of times.

It was rough on launch and immediately after, but they turned out around. Fantastic co op game I’d recommend to anyone now.

B4B is honestly a good game. Nice story, somewhat funny dialogue, good game mechanics, and unique enemy types. The only problem I had was using the weapons as a survivor.

Aside from missing the iconic multiplayer I’d play this over left for dead any day, maybe it’s different at the top 1% of difficult but playing casually I loved it

This game is honestly solid. Just not worth the 60 bucks it launched at. Now that it’s cheaper? A pretty solid spiritual successor to L4D

Was actually quite a fun game completely hampered by the momentum killing “Pick your cards” system. L4D was fun, action-packed, simple.

B4B was you waiting several minutes for your friend or random to pick their cards or yourself joining mid game and having to go through it yourself as you crawl through the menus.

You spent way too much time not playing the game, when you wanted to play the game.

I wish they would make a L4D-like without having to resort to insane amounts of meta progression. The AAA urge to design engagement by making people watch number go up has really soured me on this stuff recently.

Just like… give me a game that’s good enough to stand on its own.

i’d rather jump into darktide or the much better vermintide 2, fatshark definitely stepped up when it came to polishing out a game overtime and fill the L4D shoes.

Meh the lack of campaign versus is what did it for me. I played this game through once and that was enough. It was simply not fun enough to justify just playing through it over and over. Also, the pvp was legit one of the worst things I’ve ever played in my life.

TRS just has terrible marketing, twice now they’ve killed their games by marketing them as something different. They just need to let the games stand on their own feet, like back 4 blood isn’t a bad game, but when you intentionally put it up against l4d2, it looks like ride to hell retribution

They actually fixed B4B quite a bit.

It ended up being quite fun after all the DLCs and patches.

Highly recommend if you have some friends to play with!

  • HeyItsBearald

I’m confused. Are people supposed to hate this game? Because it’s a blast to play with buddies. It’s the same feel as left 4 dead and everything.

Games not in a totally broken state in current day as compared to launch.

It’s sloppy visually, and the (non-dlc) story is a drag past the first act.
Its nearly impossible to coordinate builds at all with randoms on higher difficulties via the structure of the quick play system.

Fun game, but basically requires friends, lest you roll solo.

And that’s not giving the bots a bad rap, they’re better then quick players more times then not in 2023.

Whether people liked it or not, at least we’ve now SEEN the concept of a deck building ‘L4D’.
And these cards change the game fundamentally, more then just raw players stats. From the amount of items spawned, to new passives, or fundamentally altering the mechanics (such as Disabling ADS,removing strafe speed reduction etc.).

Contrary to the shit show that (sadly) is current day DarkTide or RedFall there’s way worse 4 player shooters you could waste time on.

Back4Blood is a banger of a game, stop letting people change your mind about that. Devs got moved to work on another project but game is still fun as fuck. The levels and the card system are hype as fuck. Wake up

It’s not a bad game at all. My college roommate and I played so much L4D back in the day that we made sure to check this out together. Again, not bad, only problem we had was we felt like it wasn’t balanced well like some parts felt so punishing it wasn’t fun. L4D always felt tough but fair. B4B just throws constant hordes at you.
