Played the part well.
Top shelf mom hair
Ha! Self-conscious perhaps but he does have a pleasant speaking voice
He is everyone who’s ever made announcements for the first time, still funny though
He looks like a really young Val Kilmer! He’s adorable!
I strongly felt his anxiety.
I work at a grocery store and I sometimes do the closing call. I have it written down on my phone so I don’t mess up like that… Greetings and Salutations Sullivan’s guests, this is your captain speaking, the store is now closed. Please come up to be checked out immediately. Thank you
Kevin Bacon.
Haha when i use to have to do closing announcements i always did it like the lets get ready to rumble guy.
People can say what they want about his 80s hair, but I’d rather see this come back than mullets.
I don’t think I could trust myself on a closing announcement to not say, “get your shit and get out.”
John cougar mellencamp humble beginnings
It’s definitely better to be extremely bad at the Kroger’s closing call than to be extremely good at the Kroger’s closing call. god speed you silky-voiced man
He has great intercom voice though.
This guy has Steve Harrington energy
This is how I would’ve done it, word by word
I was taught how to press the intercom (hang up) button before they even taught me to bag or even janitorial duties
Jon bon Kroger
But on the surface he looks so calm and ready
Typically, this system has a 5 to 10-second delay for the same reason.
I remember making my first announcement in a retail store. After the first 2 times you learn to have fun with it.
I’d say somebody should have written it down for him, but not sure asking him to read is a solution.
I was told to do that once at Lowes, I shut down and all you could hear was uhh .. for 3 seconds before my head cashier tossed me aside and announced it herself
Honestly it would make my day if I were in a store and this closing message came out over the loudspeakers, but I’m in New Zealand and we’re more chill with swearing haha
This is me after I turn on my mic in a meeting that I was late for 😩
Haha the “shh” cracked me up so bad
He has a great voice, maybe radio or TV host.
“Attention customers. We close in 15 so gtfo. Oh, and have a great night!”
Man, this reminds me of my first day training as a housekeeping coordinator at a hotel. I dialed every single room that had a “Do Not Disturb” sign on their door to send a mass phone message about calling housekeeping if they would like service and I opened with “good evening this is [my name] with housekeeping if you would li-fuck” then I put the phone down to retry, but apparently putting the phone down sends the message. Every DND in that hotel got my name, department, and my f-bomb.
Luckily my trainer knew how to delete messages off of any phone in the building from our office phone and was able to do so before anyone could call to voice their concern.
I’ve fucked up my fare share of tannoys at my job, simplest way to fix it is to just ignore it happened and move on and do another just after to remind customers.
It sucks messing up knowing everyone can hear you
Matt Damon sounded different when he was younger.
I worked at Kroger and one time I was calling for help with bagging but only said, “We need help!” due to how how frazzled I was and never heard the end of it. Even the customers who saw it happen wouldn’t stop laughing 🥲
A buddy of mine, on his last night at the store, said, “Attention (store name) customers we are closing in 5 minutes. Get your shit and get fuuuuckkk out. Thank you!” I lost it. Thanks for the memories Jonathan
Future DJ
Hey has majestic hair
Aww that’s adorable 😂
The fucking K-Mart Click I hate it so much. If you don’t know what that is it’s when you put the receiver back and the whole intercoms makes a *shhh grr kaaaplunk* just press the button to end the page and people’s ears will not be assaulted.
He’s cute lol I thought he did a good job after the initial fumble 👍🏻
Aw this kid is cute and funny. Grateful for a smile to put a lid on a crusty day.
Great news, you are too good looking to work at Walmart anyway.
The way you can hear the speaker in the background as well makes it funnier
Now u have to do it every time.
