Armored core 2&3 were my life at the time! Especially 3. Played it every day and was completely obsessed. I’ve never been high rank in any game except ac3 online! I was ranked between 15 and 8 in the world and would constantly be fighting the same group of players to push rank back and fourth. I was one of the few non Japanese players at that rank and was my proudest gaming moments of my life!
I used a very agile mech with a lot of time invested into balance and quick boost and dual rifles.
Damn those were the days!!

Someone please recommend me an armored core alternative for PC that’s decent. I’m more interested in the earlier armored core that take place on the ground and less so ZoE style flying mechs, which seem to be a lot more popular.
The things I’m really craving for are good customization (doesn’t have to be mega detailed), part collecting, sandboxy and or persistent campaign mode.
I almost got hype for MW5 but at least at launch they seems to miss the mark pretty badly.
I feel like the best games in the genre for PC are still Heavy Gear 2 and MW4 Mercenaries.
