That is seriously awesome!

Devs, take note.
I have never played Factorio, but my roommate/best friend is a huge Factorio guy, and when my girlfriend and I went to Pax East a few years ago, the devs signed a bunch of for my friend and we surprised him with it. It was really cool and he ended up sinking even more time into the game out of respect. End rant.
thats love to your players right there
Damn… that’s rad. I worked with a guy a few years back. He was super chill and he got me into online gaming and i had so much fun on pubg with him. He was an amazing, hyper, genuine, awesome guy. But 8 months into our friendship, he lost his battle with depression. I Havent played pubg since. Just cant do it. I know the feels here. And what the devs offered is truly amazing. 🥲😭
That is just a awesome thing for them to do, makes me wish I was a multi-player kind of person, I would play this just out of respect for them,
I have a good lot of respect for Bohemia Interactive after my time with Arma and seeing what they do with DayZ, sure the games aren’t the most polished and updated but they support their community for sure!
+1 year onto the development?
To bad they arent more amazing at making games
very good !!
Where is it, where the hell is it, i need to go pay virtual respects
That’s awesome
I used to own a fivem server, and one of our players was an officer who died in real life. We put a memorial on top of mt chilliad with a cross, on screen pop ups, badge and gun, etc and held a funeral up there for him. The memorial was never taken down and we routinely subtly encouraged players to go up there.
Perhaps there is still hope in humanity
I’m sorry for your loss man, though it’s completely awesome that the developers would do this in remembrance!
Damn guys, I’m gonna cry.
Respect
i remember bdo once did a funeral for a player. except for some reason they decided to host it in a nonsafe zone so a bunch of griefer guilds showed up to kill people and type monkaTOS stuff in the chat.
This reminds of me of a similar incident with Borderlands. A player who had spent a lot of time in the first game passed away, and Gearbox put out a short audio statement with Claptrap’s VA and made a minor NPC based on him in Sanctuary in Borderlands 2. Always nice when devs show that kind of empathy.
Are they though? This is nice, but their game is beyond buggy after all the years it’s been out.
That’s awesome. How many years until this will be implemented?
Imagine this happening for something like fortnite and having a bunch of kids doing fortnite dances on your grave…
wow this is the first time I’ve heard anything nice said about DayZ devs
I guess it has been about 10 years, does the game finally work?
Gotta love people who hate on DayZ but either A) they never played it, or B) last version they played was 0.45
This was literally just posted yesterday… stop the reposting
After seeing EA, Rockstar and Activison’s shitty support this year, it puts a smile on my face to see that some devs are still caring for their game and community.
was the cross ever built
Now I eant to get Dayz just because of this and go visit the grave
InB4 this is a scam and dude isnt dead.
I wanted to say “That’s very fitting, because that game’s a graveyard”, but first I looked up the player numbers on steamcharts to make sure that hadn’t changed. Apparently it peaks at 40-50k players per day now. How? It was down to like 3k not too long ago.
This made me cry.
I saw the top of this post and thought they were going to add him into the game as a zombie.
Some times the gaming community isn’t toxic… Sometimes..
That might be more work those devs did in 5 years damn
I mean it would be the first bit of work they have done on their game in a long time.
This brought a tear to my eye, I have a gaming homie since I was 12 years old (22 now) and the thought that he might not come on someday is sad
Can we go a week without reposting this? This image is so pixelated already
Damn it.. get those onions outta here!!
That’s some wonderful stuff right there, and they were extremely thoughtful.
This is awesome!
The Dayz Devs really are amazing for doing this for a person, I don’t play Dayz myself but i’m just curious on if they actually did it.
Wait is DayZ not a dead game? I bought it years ago and thought they abandoned it. Last time I played it zombies could run right through walls and fences and it was a total mess.
Except at actually finishing a game
I lost a best friend and roommate 3 years ago. He was the ultimate gamer buddy. After he died it took me a while to play No Man’s Sky again but when I did on a random planet in my home galaxy was his base. It made me so happy to see that a piece of his creativity lived on. Then like a month after I found it I went to show his widow and a patch had parked an entire alien mothership ruin onto of it. I tried to mine out the area to set it free but ai can’t mine the ship. So. That sucked. But now it’s a story
Reminds me of the legend of glitterbeard in sea of thieves. I cried doing that quest.
T.T
I love how devs are doing things like this these days
Im that way but with minecraft. My whole family played when i was in my early teens, so many memories and lots of fun. After my dad passed it was incredibly hard to even think about the game. I saved his personal save games on a thumb drive, still have it too. Probably can’t load them up as they were made back in like 2013. These days my siblings and I pick it up as a way to hang out since we don’t live near each other anymore. Every time we play I think about my father, and the happy memories we all shared growing up.
It takes a lot of time to heal from something like losing a parent/sibling/friend, but when you do come to terms with it you learn to cherish the memories you made together, instead of being sad about them.
Gta 6 must come
