One of my favorite musicals for sure.
I had to read that title a few times
That the dude with the locker?
He was my favorite Monkee. I had all of their albums.
I thought that was the Beaver!

I miss Davy…and Peter and Mike
Who’s the lady? I know probably just makeup but she reminds me of an actress in a few 50s films. Vampires come to mind.
is it just me or does he look like a young justin bieber
👎 Yassified filters on vintage photos
Davy had left school early, initially training as a jockey, then becoming an actor on various British TV shows and joining the cast of “Oliver.” By the time of this photo, he was roughly 18, though looking quite young.
He played the role of the Artful Dodger for its’ Broadway run, including an exciting live performance on February 9, 1964, for the Ed Sullivan Show, the same night the Beatles made their famous US debut.
Between the “Oliver” show and his next gig, he signed in 1965 to Colpix Records (a division of Columbia) and recorded a few singles and released an album. The following year, he auditioned for the Columbia’s Screen Gems TV program—“The Monkees.” They would record for Colgems, another Columbia subsidiary.
Davy was well-prepared for the soon-to-be fast-paced life of the Monkees, recording, filming and performing.
I was not prepared to see him so young! 💕
He looks about 12
She kinda looks like a chubby Cindy Lauper
I thought that was u/wilwheaton for a second. But I do feel young Wil would have developed an excellent, complex Artful Dodger character.
I liked his song featuring Craig David
if Davy Jones is a person, then wheres his locker and why is it at the bottom of the sea 🤨
Shit there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time
This took a bit or research but i wasn’t really doing anything…
The woman is Actress Vivienne Martin who played an alternate Nancy in the same London West end production as he did (as an alternate Dodger) in 1961. a fun fact is that Phil Collins was an alternate dodger just as Davy was in this particular production. So its safe to say the night of this performance and photo they were using cast alternates!
Davy Jones played the principal Dodger on Broadway in 1964.
How old is Justin Bieber exactly?
A young Ace Ventura.
It’s Reg, Reginald Fairfield!
You’d think that if he was getting makeup to be the Artful Dodger, it’d be to make him look like a dirty, unkempt young pickpocket.
TIL – Davy Jones is Justin Bieber’s long lost relative
I met him in the 90’s as a kid, my uncle was MC’ing an event and had Jones perform. Back then I grew up a fan of watching The Monkees, so the family thought it would be great to bring me and after the event go back to meet him and have a picture with him. His arrogance was way taller than he was. I even overshadowed him as a kid, lol.
But man, such a letdown for me as a kid who grew up a fan only to find myself getting treated so ice cold by this f*cker who thought himself better than everyone there around him. Should have been thankful that a bunch of older folks paid to see his outdated ass in the first place instead of treating them like something stuck to the underside of his shoe the whole night.
