Yo I think there’s a subreddit where someone can help restore it. I just cant for the life of me think of the name.
(Or I could have dreamed it)
The people in the photo look so cool
I like how their hands are touching. You can tell they lived for each other.
The dog is just sitting, waiting for the gramophone to be invented.
This is remarkable. The way they are standing so closely, hands not holding but gently touching each other. They were so excited to be photographed at that moment and their love for each other is so evident. Thank you for sharing this precious photo

Sorry, it made me think of this:
The funniest thing is that he was a nurseryman and florist. I never knew about it before this year, my parents didn’t know about it, the business didn’t stay in the family. And yet somehow, by some weird coincidence, 150 years later I am also… a nurseryman. Life is weird.
They were 38 in this picture!
Any idea how old they were at the time? They might actually have been born in the 1700s. What a century to be alive, to see the world go from the 1700s to full speed industrialization in the 1800s.
Almost as crazy as living through the 1900s. Or today 😳
Looks like he’s going to hold her hand and the photo just missed it! Such a sweet couple
They’re even holding hands – what a great couple.
Crazy to think that they might have been born in the 1700s.
The damage to the photo ads a lot of character to the image! 👍

My ancestors. They did dress dapper in those days.
I love the dainty hand-holding. 🥰🥰
edit: can’t forget the cute woofie chilling with them.
Where isthis? Any chance any of it is on Google streetview?
They look so proud! That’s beautiful!
Amazing!! Where are they?
That photo was taken a 100 Years before I was born. Dapper indeed!
If that is 1875, it would be interesting to know how old the cobblestone under their feet is. It looks very old even in this picture.
I’m jealous: You’re lucky you have a picture of your ancestors dating back to so long ago! I love when people back then included their pets in the pictures – shows they really cared about them to include them.
Want me to try my hand at restoring it for free, and uploading it on a comment here? I’d like the challenge! … and here it is! I’ll post on the other site also. Wow! I just saw the other site–dazzling! 😀

This photo has really neat features: dog on barrel, quaint abode with ivy, cool door. They are very dapper.
“You look dashing Reginald”
“My dear we make the finest couple in town”
I wonder if they knew they were living in the olden days.
I love her jaunty cap and how their hands are touching.
Couldn’t get the barrel quite right

Definitely dapper, even the dog on the barrel.
That’s a Jack Russell Terrier!
I love how you have a dog among your ancestors 😉
amazing picture thank you for sharing!
Why is my dog kicking it in the past with your family?
This can be repaired! It’s beautiful!!
Don’t worry a kind redditor will fix this for you
That is so cool. I wish my family had photos from that far back. It’s so interesting!

I love how his hand is lightly touching hers. So sweet!
This is really cool and I love how they pose in a natural setting. No fake smiles. Pictures back then were cherished and expensive. I bet they wanted people to enjoy the picture for as long as possible. It’s very cool that you now gave it a second life into a digital world.
My great great grandfather was a vienyard grower and winemaker in Alsace. Our family’s name, Eichberg, is shared with the largest grand Cru in Alsace. No one knew we had farmed that famous hill until I finished my last internship in winemaking after leaving a career in mathematics behind. I today farm my own 61acre vineyard and make wine, just like my great great grandfather. Life is incredible ❤️
Look at these two, unable to stop holding hands in the picture at a time when that wasn’t so common. They were in love!
I’m always so jealous that people have such old, telling photos of their family.
Can we normalize barrels as decor again?
