So God is Stanley Kubrick and James Cameron’s love-child….?
I think the problem with these designs is that they go way too far in the other direction from angels depicted in European art.
Yes, The angels described in the Bible are very strange, but not quite that strange either. For example, I think the most accurate depiction of the wheels I’ve ever seen literally look like a couple of chariot wheels one inside the other, with eyes lining the outside of the ring.
Same with cherubim, they’re definitely very strange, but I don’t think that the Bible ever describes them as having eyes all over the place.
These are just begging for a horror thriller movie.
*Do not be afraid.*

Ive seen depictions like this before, I cant get past how much the multi layered spinning rings of eyes look like an atom.
Finally, some good fucking content on new.
Basically, they were high on shrooms when they saw the divine
People say Lot showed poor judgement offering his daughters to the mob of Sodomites but yet the angels he had to save looked like this and disguised themselves as normal people with normal bholes and went into that town to visit.
Tumbling down

Tumbling down…
It’s, like, friendly in a lovecraftian way
Angel – “Don’t be afraid, human”
Human – “Motherfucker, have you LOOKED in a mirror lately?”
Shinji, please get in the Eva.
Replace “angel” with “alien” in the Bible and it make a lot more sense.
What exact scripture described angels like this?
Serious question.
I kind of believe this more than some curly-haired blonde dude flying through my window with a harp.
Love the new Tool videos
Looks like the description of a DMT/Acid trip go figure.
When they spoke about all the ‘eyes’. Could they have just meant ‘lights’?
Biblically accurate reddit fad
so these are real but dinosaurs aren’t?
Bayonetta did a pretty neat job of depicting religious creatures.
Someone was eating moldy bread
There is a theory that the description of angels are actually the description of symbols/sigils.
In drawn form.
When the written word was first created, this allowed for knowledge to be kept and passed on it was likely highly revered.
It would have seemed like magic.
If you read multiple translations of the text about angels, it actually makes a lot of sense that it was about sigils.
The fiction book “Maxwell’s Deamon” explores this theory.
oh it’s just 02 the final boss from Kirby 64: https://youtu.be/c-UlE5J81Js?t=340
What part of the bible describes them like this?
DMT Elves. https://bigthink.com/the-present/dmt-beings/
*throws Pokeball*
Was it Bayonetta which did angels a little like this or am I thinking of a different game?
i guess since lateralus, tool was right.
Usually put an angel at the top of the Christmas Tree every season, might not go for the accurate one, though; may give the grandkids nightmares.
And people wonder why the first thing they always say is “do not be afraid.”
They’re modeled after [Ezekiel 10] (http://web.mit.edu/jywang/www/cef/Bible/NIV/NIV_Bible/EZEK+10.html) if anyone is interested in reading the description.
Evangelion nailed them pretty well
That got such an Evangelion vibe.
