    In defence: Halo

    In functionality: Metroid

    In gameplay: Crysis

Armour plus the user: Warhammers Space Marine

    In looks: Dead Space

Has to be the Metroid suit.

    – Highly Customizable
    – Powerful Arsenal
    – Intergrated AI into head piece
    – Can warp into a ball and create bombs
    – High agility

    And more…

I love the armor-centric shooter genre Halo and Metroid helped kicked off so much. Especially Metroids and Crysis’ suit symbiosis. Such a cool trope.

Cheating by saying that the HEV suit in Half Life 2 SMOD is the really good because it can stop time, carry a practically infinite amount of weapons and makes Gordon strong enough to kick people to make them explode

The Warhammer 40K space marines are supposed to be [superhumans in neural-synchronized power armor](https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Power_Armour), able to wipe out entire armies of common enemies. Basically, each one is supposed to be a master chief or stronger in his own right, with power armor that acts as a living extension of their bodies.

The only thing that even comes close is the [Fallout power armor](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/X-01_power_armor), which is meant to be able to survive nuclear attacks and high radiation environments.

In terms of functionality, Samus’ suit can’t be beat, but it’s not exactly the most defensive kind of armor.

The Space Marine armor. That stuff is crazy good. Mjolnir armor is pretty dope too especially if it has an AI like Cortana. Not crazy Cortana but regular Cortana.

  • DockingWater17

It probably doesn’t stand up to the others in defense unless we count the upgrades, but the Dread Power Suit looks so damn cool. I love the sleakness and the white and blue color scheme.

The HEV-suit turns a nerdy scientist into a portal-hopping, alien-killing, army-beating superhero. Technically speaking it’s not the best armor, I’m sure, but it’s perhaps the one that makes the biggest difference in its universe.

I’m over analyzing this but some of these guys are super soldiers or genetically modified to properly use said armor. N7 armor and fallout Power armor are plausible. Irl I’d go with power armor.

Most of these suits are just moderate protection for a super-human individual. But none of them can compete with the CryNet Nanosuit in their ability to turn anyone into an unmatched instrument of destruction.

    # CryNet Nanosuit Mk. 2

*(Which is the one you displayed)*

    * **Armor -** Energy is diverted to tightening of the suit’s outer weave, increasing density and thus enabling deflection of oncoming high-speed projectiles; blunt trauma and high-energy emissions, hazardous levels of heat, and radiation are also absorbed. Armor mode enables quicker tissue regeneration than other modes. The suit can withstand anything short of a direct hit with battlefield nuke (in 3 out of 5 simulations, the N2 can withstand point-blank detonation of a Lockheed AAF 212 Circuit Breaker – results may vary during combat).
    * **Stealth** – The suits’ surface dynamically scans the surrounding area and modifies its skin color to match in real-time, cloaking the player in addition to trapping most vibrations (sound) produced by movement.
    * **Power -** This passive mode activates only when needed and is a combination of Speed and Strength. The suit enhances the user’s physical strength to super human levels. Melee attacks (Punches, grabs, throwing, and tackling) inflict lethal damage, the wearer becomes able to jump three times higher than normal, recoil is reduced for all weapons, and weapons have less sway while aiming. The wearer also experiences enhanced movement speed, allowing for a faster jogging speed or a super human sprint as well as greatly improved dexterity and agility.
    * **Visor -** The suits HUD allows for efficient streaming of vast amounts of battlefield information. The wearer can pick out items of importance, such as weapons, ammo, vehicles, consoles, objective points and weak points of enemies, and scan them for details, as well as ‘tag’ enemies to track them as they traverse the environment. The visor also filters out ambient noises and enhances sensory perception, so that the wearer may easily pick up on conversations occurring in the vicinity. It is also capable of recording audiovisual and environmental data, allowing the user to document whatever circumstances they encounter. Full-spectrum acuity from 1m to 103m (including terahertz radiation); output rendered as false-color visible light; optional acoustic and tactile modes; 60x optical zoom at visible wavelengths (100x digital interpolation).
    * **Nanovision -** This effectively works as both Thermal and Night vision but is unaffected by large shifts in light or heat levels, removing the great drawbacks of those two systems.
    * **Neural Co-Processor -** The Nanosuit features an onboard supercomputer which allows it to remotely interface with and hack most electronic devices either military and civilian, even alien. Its transceiver can also be programmed to interfere and disrupt communications. Six-thousand-channel remote telemetry integration ensures complete and transparent access to all ambient data streams without the need to painstakingly sort signal from noise. It also utilizes continuous real-time derivation and analysis of all proximate tactical objectives consistent with stored parameters.
    * **Storage Capacity -** The Nanosuit has several magnetic holsters on the suit for weapons storage and management. It also has in-built ammo pouches to carry large amounts of munitions and explosive devices.
    * **Environmental Controls -** It will also maintain body temperature if it detects critically suboptimal temperatures in the surrounding environment, and can keep the user alive even at -130°C. Faraday weave shields against EMP while supporting telemetric throughout of up to 15 TB/sec.
    * **Defibrillator -** This is a feature that can be activated to revive the user on The Nanosuit when the user enters cardiac arrest. If a user takes too much damage the Nanosuit can completely regenerate tissue and grow into the wounds, taking over or assisting organ function until the body is repaired.
    * **Rebreather/Filter -** The rebreather provides the wearer with breathable oxygen. It is capable of recycling exhaled carbon dioxide back into oxygen, and can also utilize the process of hydrolysis to break apart water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen, use the hydrogen to help power the suit and to give the oxygen to the wearer to be inhaled. The suit also traps particulates as small as 500 nm, kills biologicals and neutralizes a wide range of chemical agents without compromising tidal flow
    * **Thrusters -** The Nanosuit possesses thrusters, allowing for movement in zero-gravity environments, as well as easier movement underwater
    * **Shapeshifting -** And if the suits safeties prohibiting cell altering are turned off, it seems that the wearer is capable of taking the form of any living being imaginable. The suit and the ninites comprising the suit can hermitcally seal themselves inside the wearer. This means that not only would a user revert to their former self, but they would also be able to disguise themself as anyone or anything at will, retaining all the powers of the suit at the same time.

Defense: likely 40K Marine armor or the Slayer’s praetor suit, as they’re both designed to take insane amounts of punishment from cosmic threats. I’d have to give the edge to the Slayer armor because his armor could be used by anyone, while Marine armor can only be used by the genetic giant supersoldiers.

Functionality: Most likely the Varia suit or Spartan armor. Samus’ armor is extremely adaptable with diverse in ability and honestly might be able to contend with marine armor. Spartan armor can survive reentry and nuke level blows so would be extremely beneficial to any soldier who steps foot in one. I’d give the edge to the Varia suit, as Spartan armor again needs to be weirded by a genetic supersoldier, while the Chozo could probably make the Varia suit for anyone they wished, it wouldn’t be as useful to someone without Chozo DNA but still effective.

For actual practicality in regular day to day I’d argue the Half Life HEV suit or Dead Space CEC suit, as they aren’t designed for surviving insane things, but actual practical things like radiation and blunt force trauma.
